I love the DISboards and have been reading them faithfully several times a day.
I just wanted to share our story of how the Disney Magic has already touched my DH, DD and me and we do not arrive for another 21 days.
In May, my in-laws were both killed in a horrible car accident. My father-in-law had a stroke and slammed into a utility pole. Thank goodness no one else was hurt.
We had not seen them in over a year and had made grand plans to visit the following week. We talked to them several times a week and they were so excited to see their only granddaughter again. We rushed to NY and buried them both in a double funeral. We tried to get their affairs in order as best we could but had to return home after a long stay in NY. My husband is the oldest and things fell on him, of course. It was a very hard summer for him and my DD.
One thing I never knew was that they took all of their other grandchildren (our nephews) to WDW when they were six. These boys are all men now as my husband started his family late in life. My husband decided with the small inheritance we received would take our DD to WDW for her sixth birthday. We really understood the uncertainty of life after the accident.
I am sure we should have put the money into savings but instead we are staying 7 nights at the POP with the Dining Plan. The planning of this trip has been such a distraction of the tragedy for all of us. My DH and I are always on the boards looking for great ideas and reviews. Thanks to all of the DISers.
I do have a question after this long post-
Can you still have a brick engraved with names around Bay Lake. I think it would be a nice thing to do in memory of my DHs parents.
Take care-
Amy
