Hey Dis Brides!
I was wondering if anyone did an engagement portrait session with disney photography or if outside photographers are better? And if I go with an outside photographer would I have issues actually shooting in the parks or hotels? and one final question has anyone brought a photographer from their home town to disney and if so would I have to cover their travel expenses along with park passes and paying for pictures?
Thank you

I would love to know this too!! I am coming down in June and interested to do a photo shoot too!

Who is shooting your wedding? I always recommend using that person for your engagement portraits because it allows you to see what his/her style is like before the wedding. Also, if you can have your hair and makeup artist do you up for the engagement shoot, you'll know how your wedding look will appear in photos. You will have no issues shooting at the hotels with an outside photographer, but some of them won't shoot inside the parks because Disney frowns on it. If you bring your own photographer, you'd negotiate with them about payment. Some of them will shoot for free if you pay travel expenses, some have a flat fee and cover their own travel expenses—only the photographer can answer that one.

I'm thinking of using a photographer from home she is also a big disney fan and got engaged there herself so she is familiar with the locations for the wedding. She was also the photographer for my friends wedding and they were beautiful. But I think having her shoot the engagement photos in disney would end up being more money than we were budgeting for engagement photos unless we decided to take them at home.

We did my daughter's senior pictures last year thru Disney Photographers. We had Daniel and he was great!!! He took some fo DH and I for our 25th anniversary at the same time. We had 80 photos and the session was almost an hour. We were very pleased.

I was told when I called that a portrait session inside of the magic kingdom was around 1700 and anywhere else including other parks and hotels were 350 I could have misunderstood

The $1,700 portrait session is in bridal attire, before the parks open. They don't do street-clothes, $350 portrait sessions in the Magic Kingdom at this time because it's really hard to get good shots without people in them. But some outside photographers will shoot this type of casual portrait session inside the parks.
