Engagement Pictures

Hopefully we'll be getting our engagement pictures done this weekend (if the weather cooperates) and I am at a total loss for what to wear. I bought a very bold printed dress, but after reading online it seems like bold prints are a no-no.

I also have no idea what to get for the casual outfit. (We're doing two)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I agree - love the dress also. What is your DF wearing?

Here is what we wore for our EP. We had them done at the WL and the Poly.

It was a Davids Bridal bridesmaid dress. I saw it in a magazine and fell in love with the dress. I did not want it for my girls but loved it for my pictures. The shirt my DH is wearing is a black polo shirt that I purchased from the Disney Shopping Website. It has Mickey embroyed on it and instead of his name I had them embroyder Groom. I have the same shirt in white with Minnie on it and it says Bride. we wore these shirts for our rehearsal.

I'm not sure what he's going to wear. He mostly has polos or button up shirts. I was going to go for something that was the same as one of the colors from my dress. I need to raid his closet!

I agree. Just pick up some of the colors from your dress. Maybe pants like my DH had on and a blue shirt that matches the royal blue in your dress.

BTW - where did you get that dress. I really like it.

The Limited! It was on super sale and the girl gave me a discount on top if it! It was originally 90 and I got it for 40!

Ooo I just thought about shoes...would heels be too fancy? Maybe some flip flips could make the dress a little less formal? Our pictures will be outside, so heels would probably sink into the ground!

Silly Karen, I really love the dress. You can play it up or play it down with flipflops. I'd stick with it. It gives your DF alot of options with the colors!! Go for it!

We do our engagement photos in early March. I work at Duke, so we've chosen the Duke Gardens, GORGEOUS!! Can't wait!

It's funny you should say that, because the Roots just mentioned on their blog that they wish all ladies would wear bright-colored dresses for their engagement pictures!

Totally up to you but with a dress I like to wear some sort of heel - even if it is not too high. To go with the black belt I would do a black sandal (like the one I wore).

I love that dress! I say definitely do the dress and definitely do the heels. I think it will look more "romantic" than "formal".
