Do they really enforce the ages for ordering off the children's menu? I'm 21 but sometimes I'm only hungry enough to eat a kid's meal. Will this be a problem at WDW? I'm interested to know mainly for CS, but for a couple TS places as well. Thanks!

If you purchase a CS, it won't matter. They don't know you aren't buying it for a child. For TS, I think it depends on the restaurant and the server. We were in Mama Melrose, and mil wanted something light, and they let her order a kids meal.

Our DS12 always orders off the kids menu. We used to ask if it was OK, but after we were told "it doesn't matter" a few times, we stopped asking. We've done this at CS and TS restaurants... :)

I think TS will be up to your waiter. Since child's meals are a huge budget buster for table service restaurants (they offer them to entice adult meals to be purchased), some may say no since you're obviously an adult ;) But some may not care at all you'll just have to ask!

CS doesn't matter at all and you're fine there.

It seems that alot of the restaurants will let you order off the kids menu but they will give you a little more food and charge you almost double.

Counter service will be no problem and table service is usually ok. Honestly though in the last few trips we have noticed the kids meals selections getting very limited and I doubt you will find anything appealing. Most are now just offering mac & cheese, pbj and hot dogs, no more smaller portions of "regular meals".

My dds can order off the childrens menu but they usually choose a salad and soup, split a sandwich or even share appetizers instead. Take a peek a the menus on allears to see if what your options are.

My wife ordered off the kids menu on our last trip, and was charged the kids menu prices. I've never seen them enforce an age limit.

I'm a little concerned. My son is 14 and has autism. We want to him to try new things but he's about as adventuresome as your average 6-year-old. We usually just get CS but we're hoping to enjoy some TS meals this trip.

CS is absolutely no problem. As stated, they don't know who will eat the meal.

TS--anyone can order off the kid's menu. You can order a kid's portion and pay the kid's price. You can order an adult portion of a kid's menu item, which basically doubles the price. The only cause for all the confusion that I'm aware of is the dining plan--if you are paying OOP, there is no problem at all.

Another thing to keep in mind at the CS places is you don't have to order the food as a "meal" or "combo". We often order only the sandwich--they will deduct the price of the extra item, usually fries at about $1.80. This way we can order off from the regular menu without stuffing ourselves, and still leave room for the mickey bars, popcorn, etc.

Back in May, my DD 24 asked for the children's menu at Spoodles and was told she couldn't order off of it.
