Energy Bar Question

What are your favorite energy bars?

I've tried PowerBars, Gatorade Energy Bars and a few others I can't remember the names of. I just didn't like the flavors they had.
I'm not big on the Gu or gels either, but I can handle the CarbBoom strawberry banana gel.

The bar that I do like is the Snickers marathon Energy Bar. I've had the chewy chocolate peanut bar. I can eat it during my walk sections and have not had any stomach problems with it.

I'm trying to figure out what to take with me, especially for the full marathon. I may give the Cliff Bar a shot, since that's what they'll have at the event. I also wanted to take something I know I'm comfortable with also.

Mmmmmm, I do love those too! But I usually manage well with the gu. I can only handle a half at a time then continue holding the packet til I'm ready to handle the second half. Eyyyyewww.

Good luck trying to get things figured.
 
I know a lady who was on Dr. Phil's Weight Loss Challenge. She lost over 100 lbs and has worked out a lot and since become a trainer. She told me that the nutritionist that she always consulted with recommended Tri-O-Plex bars, and they are amazing! I tried them and loved them. They have flavors like Smores, Peanut Butter... I think something Apple. Very good and amazingly filling. Enjoy! :goodvibes
 
I enjoy either Clif bars or Balance bars, peanut butter flavor. The taste is good plus if I eat them on schedule, I don't bonk on long workouts or races.
 

In addition to the ones already mentioned, I vote for Detour bars. The small ones are 170 cal with 15g of Whey protein. They are chocolate caramel, peanut. Very yummy and very energy-boosting for the calories.

Tri-o-plex bars are very good. They are probably the only bars I would eat. Most contain way too much sugar, and many also use Collagen as their main protein source. They are fine to eat occassionally, when you need a meal on the go, but they should not be a staple in your daily diet.
