"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

YAY for upcoming trips! I'm feeling the same relative lack of excitement. I'm quite sure that will change once I'm there!
So! Monday September 22 at Hollywood Studios, I'm there all day! Want to plan to stop and say hi? :)
Wooowwww that Behemoth looks awesome!
Hahaha lots of name violations there. I like Dee's idea, you should be a scout for Disney's copyright interests. You do Canada, I'll do Germany. :rotfl:

2 weeks away!! That's so exciting, Rob. I'm sure the excitement will hit you soon. I can't wait for another awesome trip report from you. Your plans sound great! :goodvibes

A ride where you stand up? Sounds interesting.

Planet Snoopy :lovestruc

Great pics! And wow, so many similarities to Disney!

Yay!! Two weeks!! I'm excited for you! September sounds like a perfect time to go! I can't wait to hear all about it.

That park looks fun. Glad you got to enjoy some of the coasters.

Yeah for only being 2 weeks away from Disney! Definitely hope you get more of the spirit as you get closer. Looks like you got a good line-up of FP+'s. Definitely agree to keep checking for hard to get FP+ - we wound up canceling our second A&E we had booked so I am sure someone was happily surprised to see that available.

I think you will enjoy the Frozen Sing-along. It is cute and quite well done - plus seeing like 1,000 people (kids, especially) singing their hearts out to all the songs is very sweet. And you will love the Frozen Fireworks - they are really well done.

I was kinda getting the sense that it seemed like Canada's Wonderland was a bunch of huge coasters and then kiddie rides. Well, clearly when you open Canadia's Wonderland your target market needs to be that in-between niche.

Behemoth does look pretty darn cool!

Your Canada's Wonderland is verrryyyy similar to our Kings Dominion! The Backlot Stunt Coaster is exactly the same along with the whole Snoopy section for the kids. I believe they are owned by the same people! :thumbsup2

Yay for being 2 weeks away from your trip! We leave in 9 days and I still have so much to do! Ahh! On Sept 18th and 19th, we'll be at the same parks! We'll definitely have to stay in contact!

You know that's exactly what I figured Lauren. The outer shell being a little more unique, but with a lot of the same stuff inside.

I wish so much that I was more excited so I'm hoping it's just a faze I'm in right now. Once I'm there it'll hopefully kick in. Yes, for sure stay in touch to see if we can arrange a meet up. I'd love that.

I like your plans!

I see you don't have a Toy Story Mania FP- are you not a big fan? Or it just pales to RNR (I know you can only choose one)

I had good luck getting a Mine Train FP a week out, although one day it was not available for me and the next day it was.

:banana::banana::banana:

Any scheduled meets on tap?

Any sit down restaurants or are you keeping your CS streak alive?

I love the expression on her face!

:lmao:

I thought that too when I saw the picture.

If you replaced the water with open flames, it would be a chicken rotisserie.

We have that one at our local amusement park, but they stopped operating it this summer and didn't publicize the reason

:confused3

BEHEMOTH looks like fun!!!

:cool1:

Disney should really hire you to go to amusement parks, and malls and whatever throughout the world to "rat" out trademark violations. You would have a field day at Storyland in North Conway NH- there is a Cinderella's Castle, a coach and a very red-neck safari ride.

:goodvibes:

Thanks Dee. Haha, yeah, I know it's something that can get you booted from DISboards, but TSMM has never been a favourite. Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic, but yeah, with the tiering I really wanted more RnRC. I may end up switching one out though. We'll see.

It's a tough one for sure. I can't even remember what I had initially, but I just went in a few times a day to try changing and BAM, there it was. You never know when someone will cancel.

As of this second, nothing specific as far as date or time, but I certainly hope to at least arrange some hellos. People have there own vacations so I certainly don't want to encroach on that, but if the situation arises, I'm definitely hopeful.

Haha, nope, no sit down restaurants. I'm trying to keep spending to an absolute minimum in case something happens in a couple months. Yeah I know, pretty cryptic. But there is a very outside chance (i.e. long shot) that I may return sooner than later, so I want to make sure I have the money if need be, and every little bit helps.

She was having so much fun. And so awesome of Ry to play along.

It looked a bit like a horizontal Wild Mouse coaster. Certainly nothing I couldn't live without.

OMG YES!!! :rotfl2:

Oooh, that makes me glad I didn't get on it.

Behemoth was so good. So smooth and the air time was off the charts. I just loved it.

That could be fun since I do love to spot the Disney-ness everywhere and I certainly have no problem ratting them out, lol. But honestly, I'd much rather spot the Disney-ness in Disney.

We arrive at WDW in three weeks. Sept 24th is our arrival day and we plan to spend time in Epcot that day. Then Thursday morning is our DHS morning.

I haven't figured out your Halloween costume. :confused3

Awesome Sue. I will likely be in Epcot for a bit that day. I still don't know what to do on Thursday yet though. I'll probably decide that on that day, lol.

Well, it's not going to be very good I can assure you of that. But it will bare a slight resemblance (very slight I'm sure) to some performers in a parade like show that happens in the Hub multiple times a day that causes people to dance.

I sure do hope the same Wendy, because if everything wasn't already pre-paid, I'd consider skipping it. :(
Of course!! I absolutely do!!!
It was one of the best I've ridden, and that's saying something.
Haha yeah!!! I just can't help notice Disney everywhere, and of course, give 'em hell when they steal!

There are a lot of rides at Canada's Wonderland! Looks like fun!!

Oh my yes Julie. They have TONS of rides. Definitely tough to get through it all in one day if you did everything. It's pretty impressive really.

Planet Snoopy :lovestruc

Great pics! And wow, so many similarities to Disney!

I sure do hope so Alexis. That normal anticipation is just not there right now. Thanks for that. I'll have to wait and see if the trip is TR worthy, lol.

It sure was unique, I'll say that.

How cute is that? I mean if its not Disney, it better be Snoopy.

Thanks. It was so odd (but kinda fun) spotting all the Disney-ness everywhere.

Yay!! Two weeks!! I'm excited for you! September sounds like a perfect time to go! I can't wait to hear all about it.

That park looks fun. Glad you got to enjoy some of the coasters.

Haha thank you. I wish I was as excited. I'd expect it will be a lovely time to go and I am looking forward to some things like the Mine Train and MNSSHP and new Harry Potter.

It really is a lot of fun if you like thrill rides as there are a lot of them. But it's no comparison to Disney.

I just read your entire TR and it makes me want to give up my plans to go to DLP for Christmas and go to WDW instead.

Awww that's so sweet. Thank you and WELCOME!! WDW at Christmas is something else no doubt. Nobody does it better. But I bet DLP will be super fun too. I've always wanted to see it.

Yeah for only being 2 weeks away from Disney! Definitely hope you get more of the spirit as you get closer. Looks like you got a good line-up of FP+'s. Behemoth does look pretty darn cool!

I hope so too Phil. I guess I just haven't been in good spirits overall, so that may explain the non excitement. Plus coming off this amazing December trip makes going again that much harder I think. Given my lower advance time, I was happy with my FP's. There was nothing unavailable except for Mine Train and Anna/Elsa. So to somehow get those was an unexpected blessing. I sure do appreciate people cancelling if they aren't going to use them. Kind of like legacy FP without the thrill of giving them yourself.

I am looking forward to that. It sucks going too it alone, but I'm sure seeing what you described with be fun to watch. And who can turn down extra fireworks?

Yeah, I felt so bad for Riley. Just nothing really for her. But she never whines either. Amazing kid. Canadia's Wonderland will totally cater to the Riley's of the world.

Oh lord, one of my favourites. So much fun.

I do hope you get more excited as your trip gets closer. And I'm sure you're going to look fab at MNSSHP! ;)

I think I just died thinking about standing up on the Skyride.

The Riptide does look crazy and wet, you're right.

And yes, Cedar Fair parks do have a lot of 'staples' from what I've noticed. It's making me nostalgic even though 'my park' was so small.

At least you got your money's worth out of the FastLane pass though.

Behemoth looked awesome! My favorite coasters are the really high and fast ones with "air time", not so much loops and inversions.

I wonder what is holding back your usual Disney anticipation. I hope when you get to Disney the Magic will suddenly hit you!pixiedust:

We have a Cedar Fair park not too far from us in Charlotte. You are definitely right about them needing "in between" rides. It's either total thrill or kiddie. I guess if you are in between you can just go to their water park all day. It's the only water park that is in an amusement park that I have ever seen. It works out well for really hot days. :thumbsup2

Wait, Rob...do you like Wishes or something? ;)

That is so awesome you got Mine Train and A&E!! Ughh you're going to love the Frozen Sing-A-Long. I'm very excited to hear if anything changes from when I saw it.

Looks like you'll be pumpin' up the Halloween party!

Oh wow. I've never seen a coaster where you stand up! I can't imagine what that would feel like.

Oh do you want to hear an "I'm a silly American" story? When we first went to Niagara Falls I thought the Tim Horton's sign said Tim Burton's. As in the guy who made Nightmare Before Christmas. And I assumed he just sold movie merchandise in Niagara Falls :lmao:

Hey, you got some thrill rides in. That sounds like it was fun. Especially the one like RNRC. Can't beat that launch at the beginning.

That Emporium....it just looks sad compared to Main street's.:rotfl2::lmao: Like, it knows it's a second rate shop and has just given up in being showy and inviting.

Riley looked so amused on that ride with Hailey.:lmao:

So, while it definitely doesn't look like it even came close to Disney standards, the park itself doesn't seem too bad. Sounds like if you're a coaster junkie or have small kids it'd be fun. Maybe not so much for folks that prefer the kiddie coasters or dark rides.

Thanks Amber, I do too. It's not that I'm dreading it or anything; It's just December is a tough act to follow I think. But at least I know I have some things to look forward to. ;) Oh God, I'm just hoping my costume at least resembles what I'm going for. The final piece looks pretty hideous at this point, lol.

Hahaha, it was... unique. You still have kind of a seat, but in a standing position.

Oh totally. I really enjoyed... watching... that one.

I figured they would have many of the same rides throughout the Cedar Fair parks. It only makes sense. Even Disney does that.

Yeah, I think I did. That line for Behemoth alone was insanely long. I would have wasted so much of my day if not for the Fast Lane. Definitely the right decision.

OMG Elena, it was fantastic. I think I'm with you. I like some loops and corkscrews as much as anyone, but put me on a coaster with just speed and air time, and I'm in heaven. That's exactly what Behemoth is. One of the most fun Coasters I've been on.

You know, I think it's a bunch of things. The memories of December, the time of year (it's weird for me to go when it's still so warm at home), staying off site. But I am hopeful that once I get there, I'll start to feel it more. There's still plenty to look forward to.

I'm glad you can back me up on that. It's just a shame that there isn't anything for the in betweeners. They did have a Water Park area as well.

Wait, Rob...do you like Wishes or something? ;)

Well Courtney, I am inclined to check it out from time to time... when convenient. :p

Just complete luck and perseverance. Such a hard get for either one. To get both basically back to back is just shocking. I hope the Frozen show is as good as everyone says. Plus, something new is always good.

I'm going to try anyway. The last piece of the outfit looks pretty horrible sadly, but I hope it's at least recognizable enough.

Me neither!!! Very unique for sure, but to be honest, didn't leave me wanting more.

Oh Courtney. :sad2: Timmies is pretty much an institution around these parts... now owned by Burger King incidentally. But still... a Tim Burton store would be pretty cool too!!!

I sure did Alicia and the timing worked out really well with the rest going to eat. Behemoth was so amazing, but the Stunt Coaster was really good too. The launch makes all the difference.

It does indeed. Just the fact that they had the nerve to call it the Emporium had me dying.

God bless her she tried. She's not a thrill seeker by any means but this just clearly held no appeal. She just put herself through that for Hailey. Good sister.

As an amusement park, it's great. Lots and lots of rides for big kids and little kids. But yeah, sadly not so much for those in between.

Hi Rob!

Your FP+ choices look great. I’m so jealous that you are going to MNSSHP - we love that event SO much!

I’m impressed with all the stuff you packed in at Wonderland. (Wonderland, right? Canada’s Wonderland. I’m pretty sure that’s right.)

Okay, that Riptide thing looks TERRIFYING! :scared1: Actually all the coasters that you’ve shown look like they may be out of my league. It’s been so long since I’ve done a non-Disney coaster - they have so many scarier ways of creating them now.

Yup, there are a couple crossover dates in there. In fact the main reason I picked the dates I did was was so I would crossover as many other trips as possible. I am indeed going to the MNSSHP on the 23rd. I already have my ticket, so that is locked. I'm jealous of your FP's. Because I'm staying offsite this time, I can't pick FP's until the 30 day mark and its really painful. There was a time when Annual Passholders could choose at the 60 day mark. No more. :( So I'm hopeful something good will still be available.

Saw you didn't give up and scored the highly coveted FPPs in MK!! :thumbsup2

I finally have gotten all caught up and will not try to comment on everything! This trip has just seemed so magical! Wow...that Clinton Hill looks over the top touristy!! It is like Niagara Falls had a bad case of tourist upchuck! :lmao: :lmao: Niagara Falls is high on my bucket list. I think when I go, I will head to both sides! I'm thinking if the pictures are that amazing, the reality must be awe-inspiring!

I have a late lunch ADR at LTT and then FPP in MK on the 23rd...still working on the MNSSHP plans (or should I say bribery?) with Keith. I can't buy tickets until day of since I plan to use the military discount so I figure I have a few more weeks to convince. Really I just want to do one character meet and greet and ride with little to no lines. But I REALLY want to see the parade and Hallowishes...which to me is worth the cost of the ticket! Anyhoo...we should be in MK at the same time. The rest of our time (aside from ADRs) is wide open. Keith wants to do the bus roulette again...fine by me. I love the randomness sometimes!!

Can you believe our trips are so close!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Yay for the upcoming trip, which is going to be magical and fantastic!!!

It's been almost 25 years since I've been to Canada's Wonderland. I'm not a thrill ride person. BUT 25 HOURS after reading your Falls update, I was there... because I HAD to ride that Skywheel!

Funny story... I couldn't remember if you were still able to walk across the Rainbow Bridge. So I googled "walk to Canada". Google came back with "9 hours 15 minutes". Yeah... not exactly what I meant :rotfl2:

As of this second, nothing specific as far as date or time, but I certainly hope to at least arrange some hellos. People have there own vacations so I certainly don't want to encroach on that, but if the situation arises, I'm definitely hopeful.

It's true that almost everyone, including solo travelers, seems to have a detailed set of plans for their time at WDW. Understandably so, since it's expensive and for most of us it's far, so people want to make the most of their time there. But I've found that when plans can fit together even just for a meal or show, it's fun to meet up with other Dis'ers there. I would have liked to meet you at WDW this fall, but I'm there Oct. 22 - Nov. 2.

Curious, how did you arrange the Dis'er meetups you had on your trips last December? Could you do something similar for your upcoming trip, with other folks who will be there this time? I know it won't be the same people, but there are more great Dis'ers out there, and maybe you'll make some new friends again.

Hi Roni!!

Thank you. For the most part, everything is available even 30 days out. Except of course for the Mine Train and Anna/Elsa combo. Thankfully perseverance pays off. I've only been to MNSSHP one time, but I do love it so.

Haha, yup, Canada's Wonderland is correct. I will say the Fast Lane pass helped immensely.

Oh God yes it does, but wow, so unique. If I didn't mind getting soaked I would have given it a shot. But oh the Coasters were SO MUCH FUN!!! I could have ridden Behemoth all day. One of my absolute favourites.

Oh yes, I just kept trying constantly and finally it paid off. I actually got the Anna/Elsa one first and then the Mine Train showed up a day or 2 later. Hmmm, I could probably make a fortune selling that combo, lol.

You know it really does, but it also adds to the appeal I think. So kitchy, but so much to do.

That is something I would highly recommend from what I've read. On both sides you get the best of both world's so to speak. And it is awe inspiring to see in person.

Good luck with the MNSSHP convincing. You may have good luck that day buying day of since it's a Tuesday in September. Plus, you get the added benefit of seeing the weather forecast before deciding. I know it's a tough sell for some, but I just couldn't go and not do it. The extras, the atmosphere, THE CANDY!!! I'll be there most of the day I think. I like that you're doing a trip without any set plans. The only reason I have particular park plans at all is for FP+. Other than that I imagine I'd just do what I feel like that day too.

I know it's crazy.

Yay for the upcoming trip, which is going to be magical and fantastic!!!

I sure hope so Sue, I really do. I'm keeping an open mind.

Yeah Canada's Wonderland really is a Thrill Ride park I think. Some kiddie stuff too, but mostly thrills. OMG that's awesome!!! Actually, wait a second, I knew that, lol!! Isn't the Skywheel fantastic??? Loved it.

Hahaha, yeah, not exactly the info you were looking for.

Absolutely true. I would never ever expect anyone to change or alter plans since planning a Disney vacation is so much work as it is. Especially when travelling with family. That's where the focus should be. Obviously I do love meeting people and always welcome the opportunity to meet other Disers so if the opportunity is there and it works, even a quick hello, I'm always up for that. That's too bad you won't be there at the same time, but the Fall is so lovely there.

It was mostly through FB and then mostly via text. The December meets were unique in that they were planned months ahead. I have been in touch with many people though at least in terms of general park plans, so I'm sure I will see some DISers on the trip.

Cool pics from the amusement park. It does look like they have some interesting and unique rides there. So Behemoth drops 230ft? All at once? :faint: Definitely NOT for the faint of heart. :rotfl2:

What a fun day and yay for bypassing the lines! :thumbsup2

So less than two weeks to Disney? :cool1: Woo Hoo! I'm so jealous. I can hardly wait for my trip. ::yes::

Any new costume designed T-shirts for this trip? Inquiring minds want to know! ::yes::
