"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Fun picks of CW. One day I'll get there. Maybe. LOL Too bad you didn't get to ride everything you wanted to. It kind of reminds me of a mixture of a bunch of different theme parks in Florida. The coasters make me think of Busch and then there are tons of Disney reminders, as you've noted, and even some things remind me of the different areas of Universal.

Even the rainbow reminded me of an old theme park we used to have here in PEI, Rainbow Valley. LOL

I hope the excitement hits soon! I had some trips last year that I wasn't too excited for. I was going through some 'stuff' and it was hard to be excited. I still had some really great times though.

Cool pics from the amusement park. It does look like they have some interesting and unique rides there. So Behemoth drops 230ft? All at once? :faint: Definitely NOT for the faint of heart. :rotfl2:

What a fun day and yay for bypassing the lines! :thumbsup2

So less than two weeks to Disney? :cool1: Woo Hoo! I'm so jealous. I can hardly wait for my trip. ::yes::

Any new costume designed T-shirts for this trip? Inquiring minds want to know! ::yes::

Thanks Mary Ellen. It is a neat park. I'd only ever been to Orlando parks before this. Yup a mere 230 feet. Leviathan was actually taller at 306, but I still liked Behemoth more.

So much fun and I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought that Fast Lane. It made the day so much better.

It's just around the corner. I guess there are benefits to booking so late, lol.

You know, I hadn't even thought of that. I've been focused so much on my MNSSHP costume that I never really had the time. So as of right now, no, but I'm sure I'll have my normal ones with me. And you never know when the inspiration will strike. I actually thought about making a Canadia shirt just to see if anyone asks about it.. So that's a possibility.

I thought the same same thing Tina, that I would never get there. But it finally happened. I did get to ride most of what I wanted, so I can't complain too much. Yes, you're quite right. A lot of Busch in the coasters, and loads of (I'm sure unintentional) Disney references. There's a big Universal "reference" next update.

Awww, I remember Rainbow Valley!!!! I used to LOVE that place. The flying saucer really stands out in my mind.

Me too. I think a lot of it is more related to "real life" stuff than anything. Hopefully just being there will help.

The flying saucer! I loved that. There is a little water park in Cavendish that has a few things left over from Rainbow Valley. I was so sad when they closed. I loved the saucer and I can remember trying to figure out how the talking owl worked!

Well, hopefully "real life" won't get in the way of your Disney trip! I hope things are okay for you though. I know things can get tough!

I hadn't realized your WDW trip was so near! So awesome! Hope you have a blast at MNSSHP! We're still 53 days away from our Halloween trip.

Yeah, have to agree with you. There appears to be a lot of attractions and theming at Wonderland that were "inspired" by Disney. ;)

Oh yeah, the Saucer is the main thing I remember. Even though I think it was just a gift shop, it seemed so out of place that it is what stands out for me.

Thanks Tina, I really appreciate that. Hopefully Disney will keep the "Real World" out for a bit. :)

Yes, just a mere 10 days. It came fast. Thanks Dave. MNSSHP is one the main things I'm looking forward to, as always. Such a fun event.

Oh my yes. Of course, I tend to compare everything to Disney anyway, so there's not much they can do to avoid it.

"DON'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S OVER, SMILE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED"
A Very Merry Intermission - July 21, 2014 Part 3

Hi Everyone, this is just a quick bit of housekeeping so you all know where we’re at.

Today’s update is the final update of this little Mini TR to Ontario, and I thank you so much for indulging me.
It was a special trip for me that I just needed to share.

The next update coming this week will be the final update for December followed by final thoughts and wrap up.

It’s almost finally over folks; Thanks for sticking with me.

***********************************************

I arrived at the park entrance before the group, so I took some photos, and was surprised that there was no one in my picture.

120.jpg

Soon enough, they were back.

121.jpg

It was perfect too, because I wanted to get some “out front” photos.

122.jpg

Continuing on…

Not a Disney rip-off… More of a Universal rip-off this time…

123.jpg

124.jpg

Exhibit A...

124a.jpg

And that’s pretty much all I need… open and shut.

But not everything in Wonderland is a rip-off as evidenced by this highly unique and amazingly themed...

128.jpg

We made our way to a ride Hailey wanted to do, so we got to use the ride assist method for Timberwolf Falls.

129.jpg

There is not a lot to this ride, it’s your typical flume and is really short, but it does get you VERY VERY WET!!!!!!
I was not expecting that.

After that, we took a ride on The Fly, which is your standard wild mouse coaster, and was actually quite fun.

130.jpg

Ivan, Riley, and Hailey went to play another round of mini golf while Carrie and I chilled for a spell nearby,

131.jpg

And after Carrie, Hailey and I rode…

131a.jpg

132.jpg

133.jpg

This is a fun little ride that at times takes you inside Wonder Mountain, but it is pretty short.
So short in fact that you actually go around twice to compensate.

RnRC and Barnstormer should consider this.

I then went off for a short bit because I had seen a performance listed as “British Invasion” in the guide,
And I was curious if it was the same one that used to be in Epcot,

But it definitely was not.

134.jpg

135.jpg

137.jpg

138.jpg

That’s ok though, I didn’t mind.

141.jpg

When I returned to the group, Riley called me over to see something back by the tree.

143.jpg

144.jpg

Disney has bunnies, Wonderland has groundhogs.

Riley also pointed out something else to me…
Just across the way they had a plush tail as a prize… and it was Orange and Blue... The Colours of Canadia.

So of course, this needed to be won.

The game was the one where you have a mallet and have to ring the bell.
They had the super tall one, but the one I needed was only a couple of feet tall.
Nonetheless, I was apprehensive, as I figured it had to be a trick; It seemed way too easy.
The young lady noticed my concern, and essentially just let the mallet fall onto the platform… and the bell was wrung.

OK… seems easy enough.

But I wasn’t taking any chances, I wanted that prize, so I may have swung a teeny bit harder than I needed to.
I didn’t break it… But I came pretty close.
I also realized that this game was probably meant for kids to play.

But all that mattered was that I won, and I got to give Riley one last very special gift before they hit the road back home.

Then came the heartbreaking moment I'd been dreading all day… they were leaving.
Truth be told, I was dreading it before I even left for the trip to begin with.

I walked with them towards the entrance, my heart absolutely dying inside, though I did make them stop for a final Waterfall photo, appropriate for a Niagara Falls trip.

A Very Merry Intermission - July 21, 2014 Part 3 Continued

When we arrived at the entrance, I said all my goodbyes to everyone, and then I pulled Riley aside to tell her 2 things.

The first is she had been asking via Carrie for months if I had a web cam (I didn’t), but I told her that just before this trip, I may have gotten one.

“YES!!!! WE CAN VIDEO CHAT” was the response to that.

The second thing I told her was, whenever her next Disney trip happens, there was pretty good chance that I might be there too.

And then it was goodbye.

I’ve joked in the past of her immense hugging strength, but I make no exaggeration now… I momentarily lost the ability to breathe.

And with that, it was over and before long, they were out of sight.

I had decided to stay around for a bit and just basically go on a photoshoot before heading out to the hotel I had booked at the airport.

I slowly walked out to car, pretty dejected and sad, ready for one last drive in Bumble Bee to the hotel near the airport where I would spend the next few hours.

As I approached the car, I noticed something on the windshield under the wiper and my heart sank.

This could only be one of two things:
A parking ticket (for some unknown reason), or
Someone had damaged the car and left a note.

Neither option was particularly appealing, and I was not looking forward to dealing with either one.

Fortunately, I completely forgot about Option C…

UP NEXT… "ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD" AND THE END

Yay! Your trip is so close! I find that I don't get super excited for my trip until it is literally right around the corner. I think I just focus on the things I have to do with work.....

Haha! Nice MNSSHP costume. Katt would be proud. :thumbsup2

Plans look good!

Meh, there are Emporium's everywhere. Seriously, I think that many theme parks have them. It's a conspiracy...

Aha, a good old stand up coaster. You know, you should venture into the Ohio area sometime, we'll meet you there, and we'll go to Cedar Point. Those.....are coasters. :thumbsup2

Behemoth looks pretty impressive. We recently got Goliath here at Six Flags Great America, which is supposed to be the tallest and fastest wooden coaster out there. Haven't gone yet, because I need the newness to wear off. Too many people. :lmao:

Wow, that's a total Universal rip off!

I'm so glad you guys had such a great time. Lifelong Disney friends. The best kind.

What a bittersweet end of the trip for you

:) :(

I love the series of pictures in the front of the park. Funny, the lights in the mountains look like sets of eyes.

You are so right about those two diners- definitely twins. Does the food s*ck at the one in Canada's Wonderland too?

:lmao:

Nice job winning the plush in the hammer game. Maybe it was a kids game, but you had to do what you had to do!

Great pictures from your solo tour through the park. The night shots are really pretty.

What a sweet note!!!

:lovestruc

Saying goodbye is always so hard, but that is so awesome that you got to see everyone again and have some new memories. And that note they left for you...priceless.

What a great way to end a wonderful trip. I'm sure it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye to these great friends :( But you made many new memories and there are definitely more to come in the future! Awesome that you can video chat with them now though!

Lovely final pictures of Wonderland.

A little over one week until your trip!! :yay::yay::yay::yay:

The end of a trip is ALWAYS the worst part, especially when you have to say goodbye to such good friends! :grouphug:

Are you starting to get a little bit more excited for your Disney trip coming up?

Love your pictures of your day! Though it's not Disney, it's still fun to get out and explore other parks..

Love that Elsa and Anna poster- If I could, I'd hang it in my bedroom but I'm pretty sure my DH would really think I was crazy if so. :( LOL!!!

Looking forward to the wrap up and of course, looking forward to your new TR! How long will this upcoming trip be again?

Saying good-bye always stinks. :( Looks like ya'll had a blast whole trip though and that makes good-bye worth it. :thumbsup2

You have a picture in here of that dreaded, horrible, scary, should be blown up swing ride!!!! :scared1: Put me on almost anything and I will love it. I don't like swings and I got on that swing ride in Charlotte just to prove to myself that I could do it. OMG I wanted down and I wanted down RIGHT NOW. A panic attack in a swing all those stories up is not a good thing. Ok, I will calm down now.

Your nighttime pictures are great! It's amazing how much colored lights change the look of things. I'm so glad that you all had a great time!:goodvibes

I know, it's crazy that it's just around the corner. The time went so quickly. Hopefully the excitement will start to kick in now. ;)

Awww thanks. I think they may have something similar in mind at least for one of the, I think, 4 parties they're attending, lol. I'm sure their costumes will blow mine away, but I tried at least, lol.

Thank you. So excited for Mine Train!!!

I know, I actually see them everywhere too. But there's only one true Emporium (well a few, but they're all in Disney parks).

That's the one in Sandusky, right? That's one I hear A LOT about and is somewhere I do want to visit!!! The coasters look fab-u-lous.

Behemoth was the big dog until Leviathan opened (306 vs 230 feet), but I enjoyed the layout of Behemoth much more. Just looked up the stats on Goliath. Definitely impressive. But you know what... I despise wooden coasters. They had a few at Wonderland, but I just wouldn't do them. I know they're kind of old school, but they just tend to give me a headache. Then again, maybe more modern wooden coasters aren't as rattling.

Right??!! Pretty blatant.

Thanks Danielle. I really did have such a good trip but one that felt too short. But, I am always looking forward to the next time.

It's so sad to say goodbye! Both to friends and to trip reports! ;)

You're so right Tina. It is always hard. As for the trip report... I think 9 months is long enough, lol.

What a bittersweet end of the trip for you

:) :(

Bittersweet for sure Dee. Wonderful memories, but so hard to see it end.

Thanks. HAHA, I though the exact same thing!!! Funny!

Oh so similar. That is no coincidence. Haha, well that I can't say, but, while it's been 2 years since I've been to Universal, I've always found the food there to be pretty bad.

Aww thanks. That's exactly it. I suppose I could have let Riley play it, but I was determined to win it for her.

It really is a nice looking park for the most part. I wanted to stay around long enough for the lights to come on and I'm glad I did.

It was exactly what I needed at that moment. It really picked up my spirits. (and again, thanks for the reminder!!! :flower3:

So sad to say goodbye! But glad you had a great time!

It was so hard, but worth the trade off of the wonderful 4 days.

Saying goodbye is always so hard, but that is so awesome that you got to see everyone again and have some new memories. And that note they left for you...priceless.

It really was hard. I hate saying goodbye so much!! But it was worth it to have that time together, and the note was a perfect ending to a great trip.

Lovely final pictures of Wonderland.

A little over one week until your trip!! :yay::yay::yay::yay:

It was indeed both of those things, a great trip, but sad to see it over. I really can't wait until I see them again. Funny though, we haven't had any video chats yet. I haven't even checked to see if my camera even works, lol.

Thanks Alexis.

It's coming!! God, so soon too. I should start getting ready.

The end of a trip is ALWAYS the worst part, especially when you have to say goodbye to such good friends! :grouphug:

Are you starting to get a little bit more excited for your Disney trip coming up?

So true Lauren. It made the last day so bittersweet since I wanted to enjoy every second, but it was hard to get it out of my head that the end was near.

A little. Certainly there are things I am looking forward to, including hopefully meeting up at some point. :)

Love your pictures of your day! Though it's not Disney, it's still fun to get out and explore other parks..

Love that Elsa and Anna poster- If I could, I'd hang it in my bedroom but I'm pretty sure my DH would really think I was crazy if so. :( LOL!!!

Thanks Marcie. This is a park I had been wanting to visit for years and years, so it was nice to finally do that.

Haha, I just couldn't resist that photo. There is just no escaping Frozen.

The wrap up will be up in a few days. Hard to believe it's been 9 months. The upcoming trip is 9 days including travel days (17-25). Hopefully I'll be motivated to do a new TR. We'll see how the trip goes first though, lol.

Saying good-bye always stinks. :( Looks like ya'll had a blast whole trip though and that makes good-bye worth it. :thumbsup2

It's horrible. Why do goodbyes even exist??? Who thought that was a good idea? It was a great time though.

I imagine many people experience that. It does look pretty intense

Thank you. It really is pretty at night when the lights come on. That's the main reason I stuck around actually. It was such a great few days and I'm so glad I went.

Hey not 'almost finally over'. It's awww, it's almost over :(

Though, that does mean another TR is around the corner. So that's a plus.

Ooh, those out front pictures are all so pretty. Very nice.

COASTERS. Oh my goodness, the food in there is so good and it always smells so good. And fun fact, I did supervisor training in one of those.

Aww Brotp goodbyes :(

Amusement Parks are nice to look at. There's something about them. I like it.

The note <3 So sweet. You all are so sweet. Hits me right in the feels.

Love the photos of "Disney" in the mall. LOl.

Ooh love the wine bottle holders.

Great pics at the zoo.

Love the llama parade. LOL.

I see black squirrels all over the place. Never seen one before till I moved into the city.

That milkshake looks huge.

The hotel looked pretty.

I like the orange shirt.

Hey it's Charlie.

Ooh! Dairy Queen is there. YUM!

That is really expensive for the fastpass.

That stinks that ride wasn't included.

The plans for the upcoming trip look great.

Glad you got on some rides with the pass.

Nice pics around the park.

Seems like a great mini trip.

Your tr is ending soon and mine will be done on Monday. Seems right being we were there at the same time. LOL.
