Is there a name for those special round tables in the middle of EG? I would like to try to request one for our next cruise, but I don't know what to call it.

We sat in bad locations (all 3 nights) on our last Dream cruise and I don't want that again.

I don't know if there is a name for the tables, but on our November cruise we were seated at one of them. Our table number was 64, so maybe you could request that...we had a party of four.

But...though I assume that table numbers are the same each cruise, I guess they could vary.

I read a couple trip reports that indicated they were not the most comfortable and difficult to get in and out off. Perhaps even IIRC that there is a step down leaving booth that everyone has difficulty navigating(falls).:scared1:

We we were lucky enough to get one of the "teacup" tables on our cruise in June.

Not very hard to slide in and out of and the step down is small. :thumbsup2

If you get a bad table you can always ask to be moved to another table if there is availabilty.

I have anxiety if I don't sit near the door or within eye sight of the door, it is a weird thing from a tramuatic experince as a child. So when they were going to sit us in the corner at the Enchanted Garden I asked to be moved, the only thing was that they asked us to wait for like 5-10 mins while they found us a table.

This is why it is paying it foward when you tell your servers you aren't going to make it to dinner for whatever reason.

Bonus our server at the new table was the way better than the other server as a matter of fact when we saw him at lunch, the next night and breakfast he came to check on us and make sure everything was going good. Needless to say he got a nice tip and a well written letter to Disney.

His name was Marcello

Morale: Ask to be moved they do their best to accomdate

Thanks for the name! Teacups, that's cute. Now we just have to figure out if anyone else is going with us on the cruise. If not, it will only be the 3 of us and we will fit in a teacup. :goodvibes

I have the opposite feeling about sitting near doorways. Our table in RP was right smack in front of the main entrance and there were people going in and out all the time being quite loud.

In AP there was something wrong with the floor near our table and everytime someone walked on it (constantly) my chair felt like it was going to tip over.

In EG we sat by a dark wall. I think it was the buffet area. It was like server grand central station. I guess the kitchen entrance was right there. There was so much traffic going by all the time it didn't feel very relaxing.

Do you make this type of request once you are on board? Thanks!
It's better to request it before you board, but you won't know if you get it until you are on the ship. When you get your Navigator it will tell you where and when to go for dining changes. On our last cruise I requested a table just for the 3 of us and wanted to make sure I got it, so I went there to ask.

I sat in the teacups and they were uncomfortable for the larger passenger. Plus, consider if you have a party of 5 to place the ones most likely to have to go use the restroom at the 2 ends; otherwise, everyone will be moving.

We sat in a "teacup" for breakfast one morning. They look cute and are right in the middle of the action. (our table for dinner was way far back in a corner and had no charm at all.)

I am Ursula-sized, and getting in was okay but getting out was a little more challenging. ;) They were comfortable to sit in, I like the high, padded back. They are good for small parties (up to about 5) and have an intimate feel about them. They are great for families, but I would not want to sit in one of these with strangers. As it is just dd and I, we usually get put with another party or parties at dinner. I would be uncomfortable sitting in one of these with people i did not know. Just my 2 cents....

I just got off the Dream and had one of the booths. It was table 41, first table as you walk in the door. On our previous cruise we had a really bad table stuck around the corner, so it was nice to get one of these.

We were a party of 4 with 2 small kids so we had plenty of room. I don't think I'd want to be in the middle with a party of 5 adults. But I didn't have any trouble getting in or out.
