Employee attacks guest at Marriotts Grande Vista

YIKES!!!!! That is pretty scary...you really don't get any sort of unsafe feeling staying at this resort. What a terrible thing. Guess that proves that you can't let your guard down, no matter how safe you may "feel"

hm, thanks for the link. I have reservations here for July at a rate of $419 per night.

I'm still going though :goodvibes

Marriott is definitely at fault.

they are surpose to do a back ground check on all employees - even contract employees.

that lady is so lucky!!!

I would mention this when you check in....

Like any other resort, or any place for that matter, you always have to watch yourself, your kids, etc.

Orlando is a major city just like any other city.

We stayed there two times last year, it was a great experience.

There's always a bad apple in a bunch.........sometimes.

4/10 can't come soon enough.........sunny FL!:cool1:

This was an unfortuante, but relatively isolated, incident and it shouldn't deter people from enjoying all that Kissimmee and Orlando have to offer.

To put things in perspective: WDW alone employs nearly 60,000 people and is the largest single site employer in the Unites States. Add in all the people that work in the theme parks, attractions, hotels, restaurants, dinner shows, gift shops, cruiselines etc and the number of people who work in the tourism industry in Kissimmee and the greater Orlando area is simply staggering. It's sad that a bad apple got in the supersized humongous barrel, but overall this is a wonderful place for a family to vacation in.

That being said, no matter where you are, always be safe and be smart ;)
