I'm approaching my 180 day window to call for my ADR's. I can't decide to go to the parks on EMH days or to avoid them. What are your thoughts? The UOG says to avoid parks on EMH days, but I wonder if a lot of people do avoid EMH parks and then they turn out not to be too crowded. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it really depends on what season you are there. I think it would be safe to say that all morning EMH's are a good thing. As far as evening EMH, that is a different story. In January, DH and I planned a few evening EMH's. When we were there in April we attended 1 and that was plenty. I had never seen a park so crowded. During peak seasons, I would reccomend against doing evening EMH. IMHO.

The Brits Guide suggests going to them - but moving on once the park opens to everyone, on the basis that most people stay put (this of course is for mornings only). When I planned my itinerary I noted when EMH was, but didn't plan to attend that park unless we woke up really early. If you want an early breakfast, then book it for a non-EMH day to experience the emptiness!

IMHO avoid parks with evening EMH. The only exception might be AK. Last May when we were there, wait times during EMH at MK were 3 times as long as they were during the day, and more people were still streaming into the park one hour after EMH started. However, we found the the crowd at evening EMH at AK to be very light. Like an earlier post, it might depend on what time of year you go.
We did find that morning EMH was good at both MK and EP, (the only ones we had an oportunity to try while there), but we also park hopped out of those parks before the crowds peaked right around lunch time.

We have spent the past 11 Disney vacations AVOIDING emh parks. We did do to the night one in Epcot in January. It was very diappointing. We wanted to walk thru the countries and the were all closed except for Norway and Mexico. Test Track was broken, The kids ended up doing Mission Space a thousand times, and playing the games in there. We shopped in Mouse Gears too. THat was it.

We never do morning EMH days. I just cant get all 5 of us up,dressed, fed and to the park before opening, only to have to leave and go somewhere else by lunch. We always go in January ( with me and the kids going back over Thanksgiving) and in January, with such low crowds, we get to do and see everything we want.

Look at the Nighttime EMH like this.. If all the parks close at 8-9, but ONE is open until 11 or midnight.. everyone is going to be at that ONE park. Im not trying anythis time. And probably wont in January either.

It really does make sense to go to EMH doesn't it? YES...............THat's why everybody there goes to the park with the EMH. Avoid it because you will be the ones not attending EMH and may another park virtually all to yourself

We like the morning EMH, and we usually still go to the late EMH. Our thinking is that we know it will be crowded, but everything else is closed...so WHY NOT?? The late EMH usually draws the people in...if you know that in advance and go ready, it is still fun!
Good luck!

We were at the parks late Oct through the first week of Nov. We thought the evening EMHs were great. We did MGM and Epcot. Most of the rides that were open had very short waits, 10-15 min. at most. The only exception was Test Track, which was about 30. Toward the end of the night at MGM, R&R was basically walk on. We will do them again.

On our last trip, we did 2 evening EMH's. EPCOT was horrible, not enough open and huge lines. MK was great, everything was open and we jumped right on everything.

We did morning EMH at AK once, didn't care for it so much. Again, not much open.

It depends...do you plan to park hop or stay in one park all day long?

If I'm going to park hop I like to do the EMHs, but if I'm not going to I'd rather not go to the park that has the extra hours because it will be busier.

When we were there a few weeks ago, we went to the parks on EMH evenings, and thought it was great! I say use them!!
