we are arriving on march 19th.. that nite we are staying with relatives and going to ak the next morning. our plan was 2 go to ak right when it opened then around 2-3ish go back and check in at beach club.....spend some time around beach club and then go 2 mgm that nite(emh).... anyways my question was i just noticed that ak has early emh that day....what do you think the chances are of them letting us in early if we had are resort confirmation, and we all had are drivers license? its only an hour, but i dont want 2 get there an hour early and not be let in.. just wondering if anyone else had any experience with this?? thanks

That is a good question.
Call Disney and ask about this.
I'd say call the RESORT and explain everything.

I'm thinking you could go early to Guest Relations at AK, before you get into the line at the gate. They could verify your ressies at the resort and make allowance for you to enter.
Whether they WILL or not is just a guess... but I'd guess, if you make prior arrangements, they CAN do this.

If the extra hour is worth it to you, make some calls.

I'd venture to guess that it's not possible. If you absolutely want to do this, make plans to arrive at Beach Club early enough to check in. Then you could either take the early emh AK bus or drive over to AK yourself.

I am almost certain you have to check into your Disney resort before you can participate in the EMH. Your room key is the identification that allows you to participate in the EMH. If you got your tickets from someplace other then Disney they will not be on your room key.... but you will still need the room key so the Cast Member at the turnstile will admit you.

I agree. I think you can check in as early as 6 AM. Chances are your room will NOT be ready, but you can leave your luggage, get all your documents, head off to a park and at the indicated time call the phone number you'll be be given to get your room number. Your room keys will be activated for everything except room access at that point.

Before you head over to AK, go to your resort first. As was said before, you can check in at 6. Just take the extra time to go and check-in. You will not be allowed into the park without that room key/ID card. You have to present the card, and then have your finger biometric read so it can match up each subsequent visit.

Yep, go to the Beach club first. YOu will get a resort ID for everyone in your party. That's what gets you in the park.

Also should go to the resort first or you end up paying to park for the day. Just try to arrive 1/2 - 1 hour earlier than up planned if possible. They will check you in at the resort and give you your ID cards and parking pass.

We were at AK on Jan. 2 for EMH and they never checked to see if we were staying on site. We have APs so our room card was separate from our park pass. I was kind of surprised that they did not check.

Yes, this DOES happen.
Its kind of like occasionally "running a stop-sign" and telling everyone that "nobody stopped me." ;)

But there are many times (MOST times) that your party WILL be checked for a room key.
You can't count on "sliding in" very often.

AND... just like the "stop-sign" example", the day you COUNT on it, will be the day you're caught. ::yes::
