EMH has anyone ever been "carded?"

Just wondering--whe we were in WDW in June, we were on property and used EMH several mornings. We NEVER, EVER saw the ticket takers asking anyone for resort ID. That means any one can get into EMH even if they are not staying on property. Has anyone out there ever been asked to show resort ID or have you ever seen a ticket taker asking someone else? Just curious.

when I was there the first week they started EMH, we had to get rist bands by showing our cards. They checked for them at rides. I never did an am one tho, so not sure if it works the same way.

Each guest is supposed to show their resort room card in order to enter the park in the morning or to obtain the wristband for the evening hours.

We did the evening EMH in March. We had to show our resort ID to get the wristbands. A CM checked for the bands as we got on line for the rides. Maybe anyone can go to the AM EMH?

Only have done evening recently, had to show card to get an armband and every single ride checked them.

At MK one early entry (maybe last year?), we had to show our room cards at the TTC. I think we drove there to have access to our car afterward. Usually we went in via resort bus. I imagine they don't need to check cards much for people who are at the MK gate because you have to come from one of the resorts or TTC to get there. That is the only time I can ever remember having to show something in the am. For the evenings, they definitely were checking for wristbands and were scanning room keys.

My DD was a CP CM and we went to visit her. They carded everyone at MGM that day, but she didn't have a resort key (she was a CM and we didn't think to add her to one of our rooms), so she did NOT get in (and they were mean about it). I was TICKED b/c I had sent my other 3 DDs with her to do some thrill rides while my mom and I "caught up", so my 16yo wound up having to take the younger 2 alone. Yes, it was my own fault for not adding her to the room or checking about DM entry and yes, they did check cards.

for evening EMH they've started using hand held scanners - they look like credit card scanners - each person has to hand their resort ID and they scan it and it shows if the card is valid. If it is, then you can get your wristband. Otherwise, no go.

they might not have all the hand-helds yet, but we've been scanned twice now, once back in June at AK, and in Sep at MK.

For morning EMH, you have to show your resort ID or they won't even let you on the monorail at TTC.

which is probably why the OP didn't see them check at the gate. Everyone should already have been checked at the TTC or arrived by resort bus.

At Animal Kingdom we were asked to show our keys, and at Epcot, where they were funneling people in to the one area- there were CM's that wanted to see your keys to get past them. This was from this last week.

In June I went to early EMH at AK, Epcot and MGM, all 3 places asked each party for their resort key....except for families with young children then just the adults showed their keys.

In July we had to show resort ID at the International Gateway. It seemed to take forever with all the people using MYW tickets for the first time. DH and I were trying to get to our tour (Undiscovered Future World -- great tour with Robert) and didn't really care about early entry that day. Eventually we got to Guest Relations and weren't even late.

In September we needed to show ID at AK, too

I don't recall having to show resort ID to get in, it's been years since they asked for resort ID. Anyone remember when they used to ask for resort ID to get on the bus to parks??

We never had to show room card in the a.m.--that surprised me. We did have to show them in the evening in order to stay at EMH late.

When we went in June, it was really spotty whether they checked ID or not. Sometimes they checked really closely, sometimes we just waved it and they let us thru, sometimes they didn't even check.

But it seems they're tightening it up now, which is a good thing because it'll cut down a lot of the non-resort guests who try to get into EMH.

At AK, one guest without a room ID went throught the turnstile. Right when he went through, the CM asked to see if room ID. He didn't have one. He was shown the way out.

We've been asked for our room ID at all four parks.

I'm glad to hear about the checks in the a.m!! I think that's one perk that is great for the people who stay on property.
