We are touring during an EMH Evening, but are off site guests. My question is where do they check to see if you have permission to ride rides. Here is why I am asking....I am aware of the "Get in line before the park closes rule"...I would like to see SDMT, but not sure I want to make a mad dash to it first thing. IF I get in line prior to 1am, will I be allowed to ride? I wonder what the line length will be like at 1am, would it be better to make the dash? I was thinking with most people making that push it would be a good a good time to go to Splash/BTMM and other stuff.

Thoughts?

If regular Park Close is at 1:00 AM,you should be allowed to ride if you are in line by 12:59:59 even if there is PM EMH from 1-3.:)

If you are questioned, tell the CM you are a "regular" Guest, but were in line before regular Park Close.

If you run into a problem, ask for a manager.

When we were there in December we saw Magic Bands being scanned for rides. at pm EMH

I guess I am asking if they check at the beginning of the line or right before boarding. I wouldn't want to wait and then get turned down.

I did eve emh last week at Epcot and HS, both parks we had to scan our Magic bands at the FP+ entrance to the rides, standby lines were closed. The first ride we did in HS was on arrival night and we were staying at Dolphin, hadn't bought our bands yet and were asked to show our hotel keycard. After that ride we bought and linked our bands. We were asked to scan for every ride we went on in both parks for emh.

I thought onsite guests got free MB....has that changed? Or is Dolphin not considered a free MB but is considered EMH qualified?

Swan & Dolphin count as on-site for the purposes of FP+ window and extra magic hours perks/Disney transport, however guests staying at Swan/Dolphin are not issued with MagicBands.

Right. You didn't have to buy bands, we chose to. But even so you still don't get the charge to your resort benefit that actual Disney resort guest do. Was not a big deal to us other than it would have been more convenient when we were at TL to have been able to charge food to the band rather than retrieve a cc out of our locker, oh well the $$ we saved by staying at the Dolphin was well worth it. :thumbsup2
