I know there has always been differing thoughts on EMH. Some say steer clear because parks are too busy. Others say take advantage of that extra hour to avoid crazy crowds.

What is the overriding school of thought re: EMH and April vacation? Particularly morning EMH. Worth it in the long run? Thanks for your advice!

We did the 7am EMH every other day of our Easter trip and thought it was totally worth it. We were able to knock out entire lands at MK during those EMH mornings, which freed up our FPs for other attractions. It was great! Our kids are younger, though, so they do better with early EMH than late. We were staying at WL, so we didn't have to leave the resort super early to make for 7am opening at MK. We tried to do 7am EMH at AK, but had bus issues.

If you have park hoppers, going to the park with EMH and then hopping to the least busy park is a smart plan. People without park hoppers are smart to avoid EMH.

During the two weeks surrounding Easter, MK will have EMH every day, so it's unavoidable. That's one of the many reasons I wouldn't go during that time without park hoppers.

Thank you for this. We don'have any other choice but to go this week and I have been wavering about park hoppers. Maybe I should get them after all.

Trying to finalize our dinner reservations and all of this is making me crazy...

We haven't done park hoppers in years. For one of our 7am MK mornings, we left in the middle of the day to go swimming at WL, and then just went back to MK later that evening. For another 7am MK morning, we went and stayed until 10pm that night! We were having fun, the kids were happy, so we just stayed. About 4 or 5 years ago was our first trip without hoppers and we haven't gotten them again since! Now, we do go to WDW almost every year, so seeing and doing everything isn't necessary for us. We don't even pay attention to crowd calendars. But if this was my one and only trip, or once every 5 years trip, then I may look at it differently.

For what it's worth, our Easter trip was one of my absolute favorites! We had a blast! Yes, it took a lot of planning, but we had a fabulous time and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! My DH is a teacher and my oldest will start high school next year so we are limited as to when we can go.

Thank you for your feedback. Today was my 180 day mark and I made my dining reservations based on no park hopping and taking advantage of only one EMH day -early morning EMH at MK. The other MK day I have PPO breakfast. I steered clear of all the others. We are staying at WL and I just don't trust that I can get my family to the other parks that early, and don't want to be stuck at a park with EM H that I didn't take advantage of.

Just be careful with that PPO breakfast. The easter hours usually don't change until much closer to easter, then you'll start seeing the parks opening a lot earlier and having 7am EMH mornings. Your current PPO breakfast, depending where in the week it falls, may not be PPO once the hours are adjusted closer to Easter.

I think the first boat out to MK from WL was about 45 min before opening if I remember correctly.
