Has anyone ever driven to MK instead of using Disney Transportation for EMH? Do the monorail & boat start operation early from the TTC? We will be staying at OKW and are just concerned about transportation.

we use our own transportation all the time for emh. it's easy, everything is running.

I just posted a similar question on the transportation board and was told that only the resort monorail will be running before the gates open for EMH.

I was worried about the same thing too because we are also staying at OKW, a friend I work with said the transportation system was great she stayed at the Port Orleans she said they never waited more than 15 mins. for transportation and they got to the parks quickly. My worry is two strollers!!!

What you were told is correct if you are parking at the TTC on your way to the EMH at the MK. Since EMH is for resort guests only, only resort transportation is running (i.e. the resort monorail). The ferryboats and express monorail do not begin operating until the day guests are let through around 15 minutes prior to regular scheduled park opening.

If one were to take the bus (or boat if offered) from one's resort, one would be dropped off right outside the entrance turnstiles at the MK. No other transportation would be required.

MK is probably the only Disney park where driving your own car will actually take you more time than taking Disney transportation.

They were checking for resort IDs at the TTC the last week of July for MK EMH. If you didn't have a resort ID, you didn't get through the gates to the boat or monorail.

It's been my experience that you'll be permitted on the monorail from the TTC with valid resort ID. I've done it lots of times. You should have no trouble at all.

Sincerely,

Len
