We are returning to Miami Port from a cruise in a few weeks and my husband and I will be splitting up and renting 2 cars. I am heading to St Pete and he to Daytona. I am currently a Emerald Isle member but he is not. I assume that I cannot make 2 reservations for the same time frames for both of us. Can I add him to my Emerald account or does he have to sign up separately and if so, will he have to pay (I didnt have to pay when I signed up several years ago, I think I got it thru a credit card I had at the time).
Any ideas?

He can sign up for free. Go to mousesavers.com. Click on transportation, then rental cars. Click on National. scroll down to the emerald section. She tells you how to sign up for free, and a link to get you to the application.

If I sign up for the Emerald Isle, where do I pick up a car seat? Do I have to stand in line at the counter for that? Also, is the free membership a one time thing, or does the membership need to be renewed annually?

I don't know about the car seat, but I've had a free Emerald Club card since 1998 and it's never had to be renewed.

You need to go the counter for the car seat in most locations.

Well, then that defeats the whole purpose for being in the Emerald Club for anyone that is a parent of a child under 5. That stinks.

Not really, most people bring their own.

Well, with 3 kids and a lot of luggage, that was the LAST thing extra that I wanted to lug around the airports.
