We take twin DD's to freshman orientation last night. I follow TwinA's schedule, while DH follows TwinB's.

We're walking up the stairs & DD gets her flip flop caught on the stairs, tripping herself UP them & almost landing flat out. She makes a nice recovery & is lucky no one is around. I continue to laugh & tease her for the next 30 minutes until................

I proceed to get my flip flop caught on the stairs & while flailing about trying to make a nice recovery once again get my flip flop caught on the next stair & land full force with both knees on the stairs & both elbows on the floor, along with my chest on the floor. Unfortunately, for me, we were NOT the only ones in the hallway!!! :guilty:

I look up to see parents & students coming my way. A father of one of DD's friends looks at me & says, "that was a smooth move". DD could hardly breathe because she was laughing so hard & I had tears coming down my face from laughing.

Moral of the story - don't make fun of your kids when they do something dumb & embarrassing because as the old saying goes, "what goes around comes around". It sure did for me last night.

BTW - Yes, I do have bruises & a skinned shin!!!

Maybe the moral of the story is not to wear flip flops if you are at school - lol.

Sorry your "trip" was not to WDW

i'm glad we weren't hurt.
but it is funny. i can only picture your DD laughing :rotfl:

What the heck are those stairs made of...why is everyone tripping...I think the stairs are defective...!!!! :confused3

OUCH, OP, you must be in so much pain :sad2: esp with falling on your knees!!!

I think I would have laughed at DD for sure but by the time it was YOUR turn, I would have been worried you might have been seriously hurt from the fall.

BTW: next time you head to their school...best to put on some sneakers!! :lmao:

lol! OUCH! That karma hurts somtimes! I'm glad you weren't seriously injured.

I definitely won't be wearing them to the school again!!!!

OMG! It is kinda funny - sorry! :rotfl: I went to my DD's freshman orientation last night too. And, someone fell on the freshly waxed floor. It was raining, so she slipped. I didn't see it - and no - I didn't laugh! I guess someone always falls at freshman orientations! :rotfl2: I'm glad you're ok though.

So where were the dancers feet and grace went you needed them?

For all the years that my daughters danced they have got to be the 3 clutziest kids when it comes to just plain walking. I figure they can only walk with any type of coordination when there is music playing.

Kind of off topic, but our newspaper said that 8 people tripped going up or down the stairs at the Emmys - unless I was dozing, the cameras didn't show a single one of those graceful TV star moves!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I totally had an image on that one :thumbsup2 Thanks for the laugh ;)

p.s. That has happened to me plenty of times :)

I swear anytime I say something catty about someone or laugh at something at someone elses expense something happens to me where I get hurt! Think that I would learn!
