Email pins for canadians, come join our e-mail campaign.

I don't have an American address. I have always used my own Canadian address.

Great idea! I just emailed my "protest". I mentioned you don't have to go through customs to email! :flower:

Lol, that's a good one! Maybe they're afraid they'll have to pay duty on the emails they send us :rotfl2:

I wonder if they'll bother replying to any of us. I haven't heard anything yet :hourglass , but I figure it might be a few days with all the stuff going on this week.

One thing's for sure, after all this e-mailing, they'll DEFINITELY have our e-mail addresses :rotfl:

If someone has a copy of the e-mail they sent, would you mind e-mailing or pming it to me. Honestly, I'm not quite sure as to what to write in my e-mail to them.
Thank you
Suzy V.

Hi Suzy,

I don't have a copy of the e-mail I sent, but something along these lines would probably be good:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing to inquire about the pin code e-mails/postcards that are being sent out to select guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. From what I have gathered, these discounts are only sent out to American residents. Is this true? If so I was just curious as to why you do not send them out to Canadian Residents as well. I enjoy visiting your resort, but it's very expensive for my family to plan a trip (with the high cost of airfare here in Canada, and the exchange rate) without some type of discount. I know that if I were to be included in these discount codes, I would be able to visit disney more often, and I'm sure many other Canadians feel the same way. I hope that in the very near future you will consider offering more discounts to Canadian Residents.

Thank-you

I Specifically mentioned how much airfare is from here in Regina (around $700-$800 per person)

chickkypoo,
Thanks for pming me a sample letter.
I just sent my e-mail to WDW.

The craziest thing is that I just called disney and asked about using CAA and also to see if there is any other codes or specials that I could use. Although the lady was extreamly nice she still told me that there is nothing that she could give me at this time. CAA could NOT be used at this time. There is no offeres to disney for "land" trips; only cruises at this time.
Hmmmmm..... "POUT" :sad2: :badpc: :confused3 :sad1: :sad1:

When are you looking to go to Disney? I know if you're looking to book sometime in 2006, that CAA discounts for next year won't be out for a few more months. That may be why she said there are no discounts to offer at this time.

Hi:

I was just thinking if someone wants to put in their email that canadian discounts are now very limited because they have taken away the disneyclub that most of us would join to get a room discount and replaced it with an american only disneyvisa club, which canadians cannot participate in.

Keep it going, I have not heard back yet either.

Deb.

We got an offer today in our e mail in box we had gotten them a few years ago also but we just delete them as we are DVC members and don't really need the codes.

Hi:

I just looked on the canadian visa site and sent an email to them asking whether they were going to join visa in the united states and offer a disneyvisa card, with discounted rooms and packages to walt disneyworld. Here is the address if anyone is interested:

askvisacanada@visa.com

It was at the bottom of the privacy paragraphs.

Deb.

I got a reply back from Disney today, they're just giving me the run around. They're playing dumb, like they don't know what package I'm talking about even though I described it for them. I think I might have to write them back. I'll find where someone posted the total specifics of the package, and e-mail them again.

Here's the e-mail they sent me, and by the way, I double-checked and I am signed up for all their e-mails.

Sorry to bother you, but I just have a quick question about the e-mail codes
that I'm hearing about.
I heard something about a 5 night stay with tickets and meal deal for $425 per
person. Do you have
to have one of these e-mails to receive this deal? Are these e-mails only sent
out to US residents,
or international guests as well? If this is the case, are you considering
sending out codes to
international guests as well? I know that this deal would help make things
possible for me to be
able to visit this year, so I can take a look at the wedding sites available
before our disney
wedding that we're planning for late next year. I think too that by offering
more discounts to
international guests, it would make it more feasible for us to visit more often.
Just for airfare
alone from here in Saskatchewan is almost $800 per person.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter,

Jamie-Lyn

Here's the e-mail I sent them back:

Hi Angela,

The whole point of my e-mail is in fact the lack of specials that there seems to be for Canadian Residents. It seems like the only time we can get a discount is when a general code for the public is released or the CAA/AAA discount which doesn't allow us to purchase the dining package. This year it appears there won't be any general code released due to all the celebrations going on. It's frustrating for us, as we see all the great deals the Americans get offered, as well as the benefits of the Disney Visa that we cannot apply for, and feel as though we're left out sometimes. I have also read that there are also special tickets offered to UK residents (14 and 21 day tickets at special rates), so why do we get left out?

The e-mail special that I was referring to in my previous e-mail I found online and the text of the e-mail is as follows:

"Enjoy our Disney Dining Plan for free…

Now you can get a Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining of three or more nights for the same price as a non-discounted Magic Your Way Package for the same number of nights*

Take advantage of this free Disney Dining Plan promotion with a great rate on a 5-night, 6-day package at a select Disney Value Resort for just $425* per adult, based on adult double occupancy in a standard room. And even better, add up to two kids in the same room for just $168 per child ages 3-9.

*The number of packages available for this promotion is limited and the promotion is only for travel most nights August 21–October 4, 2005. No group rates or other discounts apply. Offer is non-transferable. "

I hope that I'm not coming off as rude, as that's not my intent. It's just at least coming from where I live, planning a family vacation to DisneyWorld can be a huge expense. The cost of airfare alone is overwhelming, but when you start adding in the price of the hotel, tickets and food, it gets really costly. I know quite a few families that have asked me for advice on trips, and when I start breaking down the costs for them it turns them away from what I believe is the most wonderful vacation you can possibly take your kids on. People think I'm crazy for wanting to go back again and again, but I believe a Disney Vacation offers something that no other vacation can possible offer - tons of magical memories.

Thank-you,

Jamie-Lyn

Hi:

Yours sounds like a standard form letter they sent one like that to me about a month ago. Great try though. I am waiting to see if I get the same one again.

When I sent my second email I specifically asked for it to be redirected to the marketing department and asked for a personal response from someone in marketing and not just a standard form letter. I will wait and see what I get back this time. If it is the same form letter I may try and call thru and ask for marketing dept and see if I can speak to somebody.

I tried to go on the fact that there is not much left in the area of good discounts for canadians with them eliminating the disneyclub and changing to disneyvisa which canadians cannot join. Yes CAA is there but the discounts are not anything near the email code discounts that others get.

As well I have asked time and time again to be put on any email pin code list, and have done what was asked of me and have NEVER received an email pin code. They may not be aware that they have taken away one of the canadian sources of discounts and not included us in any of the new types of discounts.

You can probably say it in a better way, I am not that great with words. But I wonder if the marketing department would be a better option as someone told me that is who puts out the discounts.

Deb.

Hi Jamie:

I guess I did not see your return letter to guest services, when I typed the above email, and that says it all on behalf of canadians. It will be interesting to see what you get back.

Deb.

Deb,

The way you put it across to me sounds great! Hopefully we'll get our message through. If I get another standard reply this time, I'm going to try and find another avenue as well to get thru to them. I work today, but I think tomorrow I'll try to track down an address and snail-mail them and see what happens.

Jamie-Lyn

You can add me to the STD letter received pile-got the same one this morning and I am also signed up to receive emails etc. Tried to sign into
"My Account" this morning and guess what-it's temporarily too busy!

I found this great website today with links to all kinds of disney addresses:
http://www.willwalker.com/disney.html

I'm not sure which one of these 3 I should write, I may write to all 3. I'll make sure to say that I prefer a personal letter and not another one of their dance around the issue form letters, lol.

Here are the 3 I'm looking at:

Walt Disney World Central Reservations
P.O. Box 10,100
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10,400
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Walt Disney World Travel Company
P.O. Box 22094
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Here's the letter I'm working on sending. I'm not sure if I'm being a little too sarcastic (I tried the nice approach with my e-mails, lol). I may just be grouchy cause I worked late, and my stupid neighbours woke me up early, lol. Let me know if I should tone it down, or add to it.

To Whom It May Concern,

Greetings from your northern neighbour. Yes Canada is still up here in case you’ve forgotten. I have e-mailed you several times now, along with several other fellow Canadians, to just receive standardized form letters in return. This lack of personalized service is very frustrating. I know you probably receive tons of e-mails every day, but when you send back replies which totally ignore the underlying cause of the e-mail, and instruct us to do things we have already done, it’s a little frustrating (Yes, I’ve registered for all your newsletters!).

The reason a group of us have been e-mailing is your lack of discounts for Canadian residents. We constantly hear about these great pin code offers that go out to Americans via e-mail and postcards, as well as the Disney Visa that is not available here, but only see something come along for us when a general code is announced for Americans as well. This is very frustrating, as it is very expensive to plan a Disney vacation (Airfare from here in Regina is $800/person alone, then to purchase every thing else and add in exchange, it gets costly). Most of us often wait for a public code to be announced as there is no other source of discounts for Canadians other than CAA, and with that we cannot book a package deal. Then to add to all this frustration we hear rumour that there will be no general codes released this year due to all the celebrations. I know UK residents receive special deals on tickets, etc, why can’t Canadians as well?

So what are our options? Do we pay full price this year, knowing that we may not be able to go again for awhile, or do we totally skip out on the celebrations this year? I know my choice, I plan on getting married at Disney in late 2006, and while I would love to visit Disney this year for a chance to visit the wedding sites and to see if the one I have picked out is ideal for us, I will not be visiting this year unless a discount comes out.

I’ll attach the e-mails that I’ve sent to clear up any questions you may have.

If you’re just planning on just sending me one of your form letters as a reply, do me a favour and save your stamp.

Thank you,

Jamie-Lyn ******
