What tips can you offer me? We just got one last weekend and I want to know where to start. Our Treadmill died so we go an early christmas present. :goodvibes

I used to do the treadmill at least 30 minutes a day (2.5 miles) up to an hour at (5 miles) so I am a little experienced with exercise but it is basically new to me getting fit and getting to a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life.

What incline do you use? How long? Do you go one tension or change it up by yourself or with a program? What is the best way to tone the bat wings on the thighs?:scared1:

We got a nortic track and it has some programs and it will take i-fit cards.

Thanks in advance!

I enjoy doing the random mode - I get bored easily and the different tensions keep things interesting. As interesting as being a human-gerbil can be I suppose. ;) Also, I enjoy doing interval training where I'll go at a high tension (or intensity for cardio training) for 2 min then moderate tension for 3 min. You can choose whichever interval works for you best, but looking at the time for my next transition makes the time go by quicker for me.

It's just like training on a treadmill - adjusting the rate/incline for your particular needs or goals. Have fun and enjoy not pounding the heck out of your joints!

Put it in front of the TV and you will be able to watch and not even realize you are doing a workout.

I would say the same thing, mix it up, keep yourself challenged but don't over exert the heart rate.

My ortho doc said that one thing to be especially mindful of was to not use it in the backward mode. He said that people tend to hyperextend the knee joint causing injury. I'd say to be mindful of that too.

Use it often and you will see results.

Great Christmas present!

Thanks! I am spoiled with my ellipical!!! My treadmill was a handme down and prob one of the first ever made, LOL No incines or anything like my ellipcal. I love the cup hoder and the tv remote holders! It is right in front of our tv and it does help time go fast.

Does anyone know/understand the odometer thing on it. Today I did 345 x 100 for a total of 23 x 100. What does that mean? I can't find my pedometer for the steps and I am curious what I am "walking". I did go over 2000 rotations or whatever it is call on the elipical. :confused3
