I just got a call from Make A Wish.... Elliot's doctor has officially approved him for a wish! She said it may be 4-5 weeks before the wish granters call to schedule the first meeting! So exciting!!

That's awesome!! We heard from ours within a week of getting our letter saying that Lily had been approved. They were just out last Saturday and we have our dates already! I don't normally think it happens that fast but we are driving so no airplanes ressies to make and we want to drive our own car so no car rental ressies to make.

She did ask if we would want to try to go during my older kids spring break or summer vacation and I said spring break would be ideal. Summer would be too hot, I'd rather take kids out of school than to go during the summer. I lived in Naples for 4 years and I know just how bad it can get!

Heck yeah! We went to Disney at the end of July one year and it was miserable!

My mom and step dad used to live on Marco Island..........Naples and Marco are such beautiful areas! Heck even Goodland....lol

Marco is beautiful! I lived in Naples for four years, but my mom and sister still live there. I actually met hubby in Orlando!

Marco is beautiful! I lived in Naples for four years, but my mom and sister still live there. I actually met hubby in Orlando!

I miss Marco very, very much. Tiger Tail Beach is my most favorite beach in the whole world.

Nope, not in Disney but that would have been cool! He was roomies with a friend of mine that moved to Orlando from Naples to go to school (my friends mom used to be the Disney Wedding Coordinator, so there is a Disney connection to it all )

Just received a packet from Make A Wish! It really makes this seem a little more real In the packet was a parents guide that explained how wishes go, info on what I need to provide, plus had the contact info of our Wish Granting Volunteers. It also had a wooden star in it for Elliot to decorate. It said he can "either decorate the star prior to meeting with the wish granters or for that special day when they visit you so they and your child can design the star." It went on to say that the star will be used to thank volunteers, donors and special friends of the foundation.

Anyone else ever get the wooden star in advance to decorate?

The wooden star must be something unique to your Wish chapter. I have never heard about it before.
