love the potato heads!!!!

Another part I am trying to figure out... I still have my 5 year old in a 5 point harnessed carseat, as well as my almost 3 year old. They are Radian 65's, which means they are FAA approved and they also fold flat for travel (or storage under airlplane seat) BUT they weigh around 22 pounds each! I really am not sure I want to travel with them. I don't think I'd want to put the kids IN the seats on the airplane... do people do this? My FAQ paperwork said the car rental people could provide a carseat and a booster but I am a little uneasy about that... first they have to be so germy, plus they might have been in accidents and I wouldn't know it. My husband thinks I overthink things too much and we need to just leave ours behind.
Up until 2-3 months ago, we used a 5 point harness with my DD(4). We would bring her seat on the plane with us. We felt it would be a little safer. :confused3

I know our MAW said that the rental car company would supply us with a car seat if we needed it. My DW is a germaphobe (sp). There is NOW WAY she would use a rental seat. :lmao:

We own a double stroller (one with a seat in front and a "jumpseat" in back) and thought about bringing it, maybe even to push the carseats around the airport. But now I am thinking I'd rather have GKTW get us one from the rental place that is side by side and reclines in case someone wants to nap.
We have been bringing Juliana's stroller with us too. It is easy keeping her in it and load up the bottom with a few bags while we are making our way through the airport. You can wheel it right up to the plane and gate check it. It doesn't go against your luggage allowance.:goodvibes

Love the pictures and your siggy is adorable :lovestruc

We brought our carseats for all 5 kids last time it was a pain in the butt, but I am happy we did it that way. We checked Ella's seat on the way there and it was a huge mistake so we brought it on the flight home and life was much better :thumbsup2

I think I might bring both of theirs, but just check them instead of using them on the plane. I really don't want to borrow any down there... I am considering getting Addison a booster, but I know once I do it she will not want to go back to the 5 pt harness and I feel much better with her in it.

Just checkig in to say Hi..
Hi! :goodvibes

Thank you!!

AWESOME!!! Are those the dates you requested, or the ones that GKTW had available?

Both actually! I had requested any days around Spring Break. They checked and came back with some that would end up making the kids miss 4 days of school the week after bread. I suggested the alternative dates, they checked and said they would work as well.

thanks!!

WOOOHHOOOOO!!!!!

We Have DATES!!!!! March 31st - April 8th!!! (we are extending by 2 days to see family)

woohoo Thank you!! I made the siggie in GIMP, it's kind of like photoshop. I belong to a mommy board and everyone has some pretty elaborate, inredible siggies over there.

How do I decide which parks to do on which days?!?!

We will be arriving at GKTW on a Thursday, which is awesome because we can start the week off with Christmas! The only downside is that we won't land until 3:10 (still haven't gotten confirmed times but that's what I was told) so I will have to go to the 7:45 orientation, which means I'll miss some of Christmas. I wish I could send dh to the orientation, but he'd forget what they tell him before he even walked out!

Now for planning... how in the world do I decide which parks to do first, in which order?? Since we are starting out on a weekend, should we avoid MK until Monday or later to have less of a crowd?

Going with a 3 year old, 5 year old, 15 year old and 34 year old kid.... do I need to plan 2 days for Universal and IOA or can they both be done the same day while pleasing both the big and small age groups?

I am not really interested in going around to all the countries in Epcot, but would like to still go for the popular rides and attractions. Could these be done in a partial day? Are we missing out on too much by skipping the World Showcase? Do you end up meeting a lot of characters going through?

I really can't decide what to do about character dining. I see so many posts about it and I feel like we are going to be missing out on something if we don't try it, but I have no idea what we'd want to do and if it would really be worth it. I know I don't want princess dining, and would prefer lunch over breakfast but that's all I know. Any suggestions??

There are plenty more thoughts running through my head, but I won't throw them all at you at once ;)

I can't answer most of your questions, I will say that we LOVE EPCOT! It is one of my children's favorite, not to be missed and the countries are a LOT of fun. When we went in 2007 we gave them each 20 dollars and let them "eat their way around the World" for lunch/dinner...we were ALL stuffed, because usually only one or two of us bought something from a country and everyone shared/sampled...I drew the line at the turkey legs though the older three got them...YUCK for me and Rachel got tired after the first few bites, much to Pete's delight)...it is one of their favorite memories. Rachel and I got a drink near the Bongo drums that was like a strawberry
daiquiri,:drinking1 sans liquor...it was AWESOME!!!:yay: It was so hot that day, it cooled us off from the inside out.If you are short on time and want to see a few countries, just do Mexico (they have a boat ride and the glass blowers are INCREDIBLE...my 3 youngest children could stand there watching for hours) and Norway (another ride...you can ride then walk out if you don't want to stay for the show about Norway. The little gift shop you exit from is fun and I LOVE Laila perfume, my favorite). Honestly, ALL the countries have fun stuff, however, those are the only two with rides. If you want more info about the countries, let me know, I have tips of our favorites activities for most of them. I can't wait to hear about arriving on Christmas, that is most likely what WE will do as well...:yay:
