Ellen's Energy Adventure - yikes!

Those long necked dino's chewing grass are my absolute favorites... I swear the big one looks right at me every time! I don't know that I've ever actually fallen asleep but it is a nice long cool sit-down some what boring break, and I usually end up doing it once a trip. I love Swiss Family R Tree House. I want to live there. Or in the shack at the beginning of Jungle Cruise.

Love it! I would watch Ellen reading a phone book....I just adore her!

I find the attraction to be fun, informative, air conditioned and NOT LONG ENOUGH!!!

It's not really a favorite, but I almost always ride it once during a Disney vacation. (Not necessarily every Epcot visit during that vacation.)

I actually enjoy it, it's not boring to me. Yes, I like it partly because it's relaxing and cool, and there's never a wait. The last time I was there the entire center section of seats was blocked off, and the two side sections were less than half full each.

I loved when it was Universe of Energy and I love Ellen, but it sure needs an update. I'm very glad I did it on the last trip, though; the dinosaurs are still pretty neat, but we have a limited amount of time at Epcot on this upcoming trip and now I can skip it, guilt-free!

We had never done this before, so I told my family we had to try it this trip - mistake.... I'm still shocked at just how lame and boring it was, lol! Needless to say, one and done for this one!

Never been. What happens? What so boring about it?

Our family enjoys EEA, it is a great place to relax out of the heat and learn things :)

We enjoy the ride, but then again, we enjoy all things Disney, regardless how short, corny, exciting, thrilling, relaxing, or Yess even boring....

But I do get why people don't like it or others.....I have to confess though, I sometimes take a quick nap for a minute or 5 now n then....

:confused3:banana:

Agreeing with you, OP. The first time we ever got on this ride, we were immediately taken off due to technical difficulties before the ride even began. We made it a point to try it on our next trip and wished we would have heeded the signs that we should have never ridden it. I'm not one to nod off but could not keep my eye open on this. Won't waste 45 minutes on this one again. At least not until it get some updating.

Correct me if I am wrong, (despite the fact that I personally enjoy it as previously stated) EEA seems like a WDW attraction that has simply been forgotten by Imagineers and WDW management, it hasn't seen a rehab in years and seems somewhat costly to operate with all the lighting, animatronics, giant projection screens, CMs working at any given time when ride is operating, air conditioning a giant building, etc.. As I stated before, it is as simple as updating the films and this would have a HUGE impact on the attraction.. WHY NOT??

No need to update it if most guests have never seen it.
It's not like they've discovered new energy lately.

Considering I have a dog named "Stupid Judy," you can probably figure out that I love this attraction. At the same time, I do think it would be nice to give the science in it a good update.

(Isn't it interesting what attractions people like, and don't like? I myself am not a fan of Fantasmic. I thought it was boring and couldn't wait until it was over. But so many folks love it! Different strokes, I guess!

You're not alone. I watched Fantasmic once and swore I'd never do it again. Biggest time sink ever.

I remember being disappointed when it changed from UoE to EEA, but that may be a general FW disappointment since I had a long break from WDW that occurred during the changeovers with imagination, world of motion, horizons, and wonders of life. I would be ecstatic if there was an update to make it more interactive/engaging while keeping some education.

Then again, where would everyone nap?

I remember Universe of Energy and how preachy it was. I guess that the message was important, btw. It was just not presented in a way to make it interesting. Ellen is a vast improvement in that regard. The last time I went on this ride in 2013, my sister and I were the only ones in there, and boy was it creepy going through the dinosaur part.

Heck, just jam-pack the ride with cool tableaus of prehistoric animals duking it out using Disney's new animatronic tech and the ride would be a hit with kids.

Update the video with new facts, places, and add some new faces.

This ride IMHO is symptomatic of Disney taking a little bit too much advantage of their guests ... frequently increasing admission prices but only rarely updating attractions.

It would be easy to update the ride with new script, new jokes, some plussed-up AAs, etc. in such a way that would please both the people who find it unrepeatable and the people who think it's a classic. But it would cost money. Like, 1/1000 of the extra revenue from the last price increase ... or something.
