Travis and I were at Animal Kingdom this afternoon and who should we see? Yup. Ellen, herself, from the Magic Entertainment Crew!

We were just coming off Dinosaur and Travis spotted her. She said that she had just left the ship today and that she was going to be on vacation for six weeks. She plans on spedning four days at WDW and then heading back home!

So cool to be able to run into DCL people at Disney! :)

It was absolutly beautiful today. High in the low 80's with a great breeze. Blue sky and white puffy clouds with next to no humidity.

Thats cool... we have sailed with Ellen 2 or 3 times on the Magic!! We once came off the ship and saw the Charles Marshall Band in the airport waiting for a flight to vegas for some R&R...they had just come off the ship as well.

Also, I forgot to mention on the Dis that when I sailed on the Wonder this September I ran into Shawn who used to be on the Magic's Cruise Entertainment Staff. He always played the nerd on 50's night. Well he now he is head of shore excursion for both the Magic and Wonder and I must say he looks quite different in his officer's uniform than his nerd costume!!! He spends a few weeks on each ship. He was a pleasure to talk to!!!

Jason & Travis,

What does it say about Disney that when a Crewmember goes on vacation the first thing they do is got to WDW?

I was thinking the same thing Jim!

Thx for the update guys! I have sailed with Ellen two times and last summer she picked me to be in a skit on 80s night which I appreciated. She did say she would be on the ship during drydock. I'm not sure if she's coming back this time??? Glad to here about Sean as well. Last I heard he was becoming more of a manager (officer) on the ship and less of an entertainer. Actually the two of them were the Bingo king and queen when we sailed summer of '02.

Ellen said that she was spending four days at Walt Disney World and then was returning home for about six weeks before she heads back to the Magic. So, it looks like she will probably return to DCL after vacation.

We always enjoyed her as host of the game shows in Studio Sea. Walk the Plank, Mickey Mania. She was also great as a panelist in Sailors Tales.

I wonder if Ellen has returned yet? Anybody know?

No, what's really cool is that you're able to say, "Travis and I were at Animal Kingdom this afternoon..."

You guys are SO lucky! I battled yet more snow and freezing rain today!!!

BTW -- it's also very cool that you ran into her. How bad is it that you recognize staff members from a cruise line???!!! LOL

Yes, Ellen is back on the Magic! She will be there for a few more weeks this contract, so hope to see her in March. She is a good friend of our daughter (Server) and we hope she will be coming to see us in England next vacation. She is such a lovely person.

The CMs meet guests/fellow Cm's unexpectedly all over the world: dd and bf (also Magic Server) were walking past TGI Friday's in London, when they spotted 2 fellow CM's from Epcot and the Magic! Two days later, some 40 miles away, they met (quite by chance) Gary (Food and Bev. Manager)!
Daughter even bumped into people from Disney at Alcatraz! They are always delighted when guests and old work pals meet them. Disney CM's/guests are like one big family! :Pinkbounc Nat

One of the few good things about living here in Florida, CRSNDSNY! In fact, every time we discuss the possibility of leaving Florida, this subject always eneters the conversation. "What about Disney? What about DCL FL rates?" :D

Now, sons, it isn't polite to tease your kind ole Mama Rae while she is recooperating from surgery and stuck inside her house (think snow and ice!) - but glad to know that my dear boys are enjoying their down time at AK!! Big hugs to you both and remember, Mama loves you best!!!

CRSNDSNY--

Hmmm, roomates. Sounds good! :) You and DH shouldn't be any problem. However, it may take some work to get our five kids (Squash, Tatonka, Mocha, Sisyphus, and Nails- all alpha cats, of course) and your two kids to live peacefully! :teeth:

Momma Rae--

Well, we know that Momma Rae needs her rest and energy so that she'll be 100% at par for those upcoming trips and cruises. It's not easy defending the shrimp selection at the buffet from would-be munchers! :D Won't they ever realize how futile it is?!

Love you, my dear sons!!!! Yes, but please don't tell them about my cane and how I stomp toes!!!!

Rae
