Elisabeth Hasselbeck annoys me!

They brought on Whoopie Goldberg..A good draw..Barbara professed absolute friendship and affection for Rosie, said she spoke with her often over the weekend and blamed it more on the split screen then the betrayal of EH. IMO.
She publically said she hopes Rosie will come back on, she is welcome any time. EH claimed to have spoken to her over the weekend about forgiveness and she seemed confident they would heal their rift. I look forward to Rosies take on that.
Joy said she wanted to say something about the war in Iraq but wouldn't do it "today" but she will get to it and made a face.

Barbara said she communicated with Rosie over the weekend and she told Rosie that this doesn't change how she feels about her...that they're very close and will remain close. That Iraq is a hot and emotional topic. That they'll miss her on the View. Elizabeth said she and Rosie have emailed over the weekend and are working towards healing.

I hope that Rosie and Elizabeth can get past this. It's clear even to me, who only has seen Rosie on TV that she's a very emotional person and has some serious abandonment issues. When EH didn't speak up for her when she was attacked by the radio heads, it probably pushed Rosie's abandonment button and she got hurt. Now, should EH have known that would be the result-yeah, probably if it's that obvious to us. EH probably thought that Rosie didn't need defending and she really doesn't, she can handle herself. However, if she was really Rosie's friend, she should have thought about the way her silence would appear to Rosie.

It would be very sad if a friendship was lost forever over this. I would love to see Rosie guest on the View because whether I agree with her or not-she keeps things lively!

Did Barbara apologize on behalf of the View and/or ABC for the split screen?

Barbara didn't apologize, she said that they have used the split screen before.

We does it not surprise me that Rosie has decided to not fullfill her end of the contract and is leaving the show 3 weeks early? She has seemed to come undone over the last year. She is rude and abrassive. She needs to seek help.

I truly hope that she gets it.

As the relative of a person who needs to be constantly tiptoed around because of her emotional state and over-reactions, I have to say that it's pretty stressful, and downright annoying, to have this other person have free reign on what she can say, yet have myself feel backed into a corner, always needing to react in such a way as to not upset "so and so." If EH felt she couldn't back up what Rosie said, with all honesty, then friend or not, she shouldn't have to fulfill Rosie's needs. Rosie can mouth off all she wants, but she has to take responsibility for what she says and explain what she meant if it's misinterpreted.

Here's the thing. I do not truly believe there was any way for EH to "stand up" for Rosie. I believe Rosie hung herself and instead of being an adult and explaining HERSELF what SHE meant, she was looking for EH to get her off the hook.
Rosie has never held back on her criticisms and if she did not mean her statement about the "terrorists", it was up to her to explalin what she did mean. In the whole tirade I was just thinking "Tell everyone what you meant and the issue will die down". But, becasue she did not is completely escalated.
Rosie can only legitimately blame Rosie.

I have been following this thread and have commented many times. I am amazed at how many people do not realize what it is to be a true friend. Bottom line is, EH was not there for Rosie as a friend.

I watched the show today. It doesn't surprise me that BW would welcome back Rosie at any time. Rosie made that show and the ratings went up when she joined. She will be missed.

Did you see today when Jimmy Fallon gave Elisabeth a Sharpie as a "b-day gift" and Elisabeth pretended to draw a moustache on herself? :lmao:

No she did not, but implied that is why Rosie left..She glossed over the betrayal issue which was equally responsible. I guess she didn't have a choice there.

Yes, that was so funny! :happytv: :lmao:
Did you notice how Barbara didn't seem to laugh? (I don't think she did anyway; I recorded it on DVR so I can look back later.) I am not sure that she enjoyed it as much as we did.

I would imagine that was the whole point of the "gift". I'm not impressed with her reaction to it, though, considering all the crap she had just finished saying about forgiveness and moving on. It made her look rather hypocritical and very insincere.

I know. :lmao: Jimmy Fallon's Car Wash for Peace song was hysterical.

i watched today but it wasnt the same without rosie
and rosies blog says her and EH arent talking I thought but that EH talked to Kelly?
also did you watch yesterday when rosei gave her miami home to EH and her family for a week. I think some of you are to hard on Rosie, she was obviously trying with EH.

THis was pre-recorded BEFORE the argument, so i doubt that she will follow through with that :)

what I don't get is why was/is she trying so hard? You don't have to be friends with everyone you work with, sure it would be nice, but sometimes personalities just don't mesh.
Rosie has consistently made it obvious how she feels about EH, always talking down to her....why would EH want to be her friend?:confused3

I'm a little out of the loop and just watched the clip on U-Tube today after my morning radio show was talking about it.

My take is that Rosie wanted to hear Elizabeth say that EH doesn't believe that Rosie thinks the troops are terrorists. Then Rosie wanted to know why she couldn't say that on her Fox shows instead of keeping quiet. Seems like a logical progression to me and one that I would follow for a friend.

And really does anyone believe that anyone thinks the troops are terrorists? Even the most outspoken war opponents and Bush bashers don't think that. It's pretty crappy to say that about anyone to begin with.
