We went to Disney when he was 6, not he is 11. We went to Universal 2 years ago and he is bummed that we are going to Disney....he doesn't remember much about it. What rides, activities will "spark his interest?"

If he is into thrill rides, then I would think maybe MGM first of Epcot. My son (11 too). Really loves TOT and RnRRC. They make his whole trip!! He also could ride M:S and TT all day!! I think they sometimes forget just how much stuff there is to do at disney. He'll get excited once he's there. Each park will have the major things that will attract him.

Also, if you get a chance check out 1 of the water parks. DS LOVES them. I think one day we are going to spend a whole vacation at them!!

My nephew was 12 on our last trip. Given the choice of only one park for a weekend trip, he chose MGM. Water parks were a close second, with probably Epcot coming in third. My son that is 7, still chooses MK as his favorite park!! We've held off going to Universal until he's alittle older and ready for all the thrill coasters.

Hi
We just returned from a trip to WDW (last week April) We have 2 boys aged 8 and 11. I let them choose many of our daily plans. We first (monday am) went to Disney Quest! It was empty and the boys LOVED it. We got on many attractions again and again with no waits. Of the parks the 11 year old liked both Magic Kingdom and MGM equally, he really likes thrill rides and loved Rock N Roll Coaster and TOT and Space Mountain. But also enjoyed the shows that I wanted to see (Little Mermaid and Muppets).

Our agenda was often set up to visit water parks and Disney Quest (again the boys choice) in the mornings until about 2pm then we would go to the big parks in the evenings where they could enjoy the evening fireworks.

Park Hopping really made the vacation a sucess. We stayed onsite but drove everywhere as we were hopping so much! I think the key was letting the kids guide our plans on a daily basis. My older son loved reading our guide book about the attractions and parks, then he would choose what he wanted to do and see.
Hope this helps!:wave2:
