Wow, can't beleive it have a month to go and my electronic tickets arrived today along with villa details and car details. Have never used e tickets before, has anyone ever had a problem with them. :cool1:

Hi,

Never had a problem with e-tickets. You don't actually need to take the e-ticket receipt to the airport with you, just your passports. When we went out to Orlando last month, I just gave the agent our passports and she did the rest. Very, very easy.

Have a great time,
Andy

Its funny you should say that because they haven't sent my mother in laws e ticket. We are flying with virgin, i take it this wouldn't be a problem then as long as they have the record of her flying with us.

All the people travelling on the same booking are covered by the same booking reference - that's really all you need the e-ticket for. But it is right to say that it's often the case they can get your details up just from your passport. I should imagine the booking reference is only used if there is a problem.

It's a lot easier than real tickets - oe less thing to forget or panic about losing!

Its theoretically only the 6 or 7 digit reference number you need, I have clients who will call me from all over the world and ask for a certain flight then phone me back an hour later and I'll just relay the reference to them and they don't have anything tangible at all to take to the desk

USA immigration can ask you for proof of a return ticket to the uk, This is one of the conditions of the Waver programme. Although its rare for them to ask its best to carry proof of your return ticket such as a print off of an email etc.
If your flying Virgin they ask for the email before you check in, if you dont have it you have to go to the tiucket desk for them to print off proof- Kind of defetes the point of anh e ticket in the first place really!

on our way to the us this year we only needed our passports, but on the way back at check in at down town disney he wanted to see the copies of our e tickets. so i would make sure you take them with you.

Can anyone tell if Virgin send out etickets as standard now, I feel a bit cheated that I don't have proper flight tickets, I'm being silly I know.

I haven't seen a 'proper' flight ticket other than those issued by package companies for about a year, almost ALL airlines are e-tix now, please don't worry it'll be fine.

i felt like you when i had e-tickets for our april holiday, but dont worry it will be fine. in fact i prefer an e-ticket as i dont have the worry of waiting untill the last week or so before my holiday to get my tickets.(i have my ticket from the time that i book my flights.) :cool1: :cheer2:

it depends.
My tickets are "proper" flight coupons, but we have also had e tickets in the past as well.
It does not matter as they are changed for boarding passes anyway...
