Electrical Parade

I just read somewhere on here that the electrical parade is not offered during slower times. We are planning a trip May 10-16th...Mother's Day weekend. Even though it's the slow season, is it possible that the parade will be shown during the 'holiday' weekend? Anyone have any experience with this?

Also, I remember the the Electrical Parade at MK from my teenage years. Is this the same parade? Same Music?

Good news! You're probably going to be able to see it. For the last few years, DLR has started showing the EP dialy during the Spring Break peak season, and then continuing it on weekends only until peak summer season hits in June. Based on previous years, my bet is it will be showing Mother's Day weekend.

Yeah! That is great news!!! I Loved the older parade, and still listen to the music at times. It takes me right back!

I hope this parade is similar if not the same, and the really hope the music is similar. I'm sure someone will be along that knows about that!

well, I have you beat even there, I rember the parade from when it was originally at DL before they sent it back to MK Something about that music just makes me feel like a kid everytime I hear it.

There is something about that music. My DS6 has never seen it. I was playing it on youtube and he said he didn't know why but he felt like he wanted to cry. I guess he was a Disney-geek in a past life.

I'm hoping to start my DS's inner disney geek in May. It's never too early! Besides, he has to have some personality traits from me!

They do! It will run in DCA from approx. Dec 14 through Jan 6. Then it will go dark again until Spring Break.

oh sorry! thank you I didn't see that. I was looking on the calendar and it doesn't have anything scheduled for that week at all. maybe they just haven't put it up yet.

The music is the same, still have the great snails & critters (LOVE those guys). The one bad thing is that it is no longer the "Main Street Electrical Parade." "Disney's Electrical Parade" doesn't have the same ring to it. Still love the parade, but I secretly sing the original opening announcement. And, yes, it drives my son batty - "mom, it's different NOW."

Well, I know that, but it just sounds wrong. Guess I'm not very good with change. I can deal with the "new" location, but I still have a tough time with the new opening. I even have a light from the original parade. As it says under my name, "I'm still looking for the chocolate chip cookie" planet in Space Mountain. It disappeared after the last renovation. they won't let me in the fort on TSI, Tarzan kicked the Swiss Family out of their treehouse. Sigh. See - change does not always sit well with me

I watched the beginning of the parade on you tube, agree that the beginning just doesn't sound right, but I guess it's how it's got to be.

My 7mo DS sat on my lap and bounced and laughed to the music. This is a very good sign!!!

So do they time these nighttime things in a way so that I can see Fantasmic, the Electrical parade, and the fireworks all on one night? Or, do I need to plan to spend both Sat and Sun night at the park in order to see all three?

you could see all 3 in one night.. But not see the beginning od the fireworks and have to be waiting at the main gate to get into DL. We have seen it from the train station in Dl and it is an ok view. then you can go to the ROA and see F!.
