You can view it from the Magic Kingdom during curtain times of the year. It is not meant to be a show for all. It started as a Polynesian Resort guest show and now goes to each resort on the lakes near the MK and is intended to be a MK resort guest show. Here are the locations and times.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park
hours)

from my recollection in last august....the EWP passed us every night we were at the MK when it closed and we were all waiting for a bus. provided good entertainment in those long bus lines.

Im assuming that the times vary for resorts to see it.
I would try to catch it closer next time we were going...I heard that the beach of the Poly is a good place to see it.

The resorts most likeky have times that the EWP passes their resort.

As far as if it worth it, the opinions vary. IMO, it was kind of neat to see, but not spectacular. If you are staying at one of the resorts that it passes by and you are at your resort at that time of the evening, I would definitely go to see it. Or if you are visiting one of those resorts at the time...why not? For instance if you are going to Chef Mickeys for dinner, you might hang around to catch EWP. But if seeing the EWP is your only reason to visit the resort and it involves the usual transportation (estimating a minimum of 20 minutes each way), I wouldn't make a special trip to see it. I've seen posts that said the EWP lasts 20 minutes, but I think it was more like 10 minutes.

We saw it on our first night at the world (we did not go to the parks that day). We had planned to go to Ft. Wilderness (we were staying at POR) for the campfire, then watch at least part of the movie and then go to the Ft. Wilderness beach and watch the EWP, but the campfire was rained out. So, instead of hanging around Ft. Wilderness, we went over to the MK resorts and rode the monorail(s), looked around at the resorts for a while, and then went to the beach at the Poly and watched the EWP. We had planned to ride the monorail and see some of the resorts on our trip anyway, so it all worked out.

But agree with Whozit...if you are in the general vicinity through your regular travels, make time for it; if seeing it requires the difficult machinations of resort-resort travel, just skip it.

Our last trip, we had PS at Chef Mickey's at 7 PM our first night (not going into a park 1st day), so we then easily rode the monorail and stopped at Poly, stopped in gift shop (since we were a little early), went out onto the dock for EWP at 9. It is a wonderful show and my family really loved it. It seems even shorter than 10 minutes, like maybe 7.5! Wouldn't have been worth the trip just for that (because of short duration of it).

If you're checking out a monorail resort for shops and restaurants, or staying at one...definitely make time to see it. Also, when you're at MK, check out when it shows there.

When our family stays at MK resorts, the water pagent is something our kids can't wait to see. Also, after they see it, its BEDTIME!

I was wondering if they would have the EWP when we're at the GF later this month.

Do they run it all the time or just during peak times?

I'll be at the GF on the 21-24th.

We have gotten to see it several times and like it. Now, I wouldn't make a special rush to get to a place to see it. If you are in the area, it is a wonderful show.

I agree with the majority. If you have nothing else to do and you're in the vicinity, then by all means look for it.

We had come out of the HoopDeDooReview at Fort Wilderness and walked over to the beach and realized it was going to start soon so we pulled up a lounge and watched. It was nice and relaxing. ::yes::

Yep, I agree with the majority also. Last November at GF, we got to see it twice from the dock, and DD (4 1/2 at the time) loved it. She has actually asked that we make time to see it on our upcoming trip in 3 weeks. It's pretty cute, with a sea theme and nice music, and I think it lasts about 10 minutes.
