Electric or Gas Cooktop?

Yes, I sure noticed a difference a couple of weeks ago when I filled two of my 5 gallon propane tanks. Way down.

costs us more per gallon to fill our bbq canisters than to have the tank filled.

Can you hook your grill to the propane?

I very lucky to have my grill hooked up to the gas, so I never have to deal with the bbq canisters.
The only issue is you dont want to forget to turn it off.

we could but the placement of the gas line is not condusive to where we place that particular bbq so we just have a couple of canisters we use for that purpose (we honestly use our big green egg much more).

The concern with gas fumes reminds me of the issue with radon in some areas. One of those things we can now more accurately measure and suddenly it's a problem. I think in the case of cooking with gas, someplace like a commercial/industrial sized kitchen is probably where they should focus more efforts and likely those places already have the appropriate type of ventilation. Not sure if these are more theoretical issues or an actual health concern. How long do you actually need to be exposed to radon or gas fumes in order to have any health issues?

I don't like the idea of the ban, I also use a gas oven and just got a new one.

That said - we had an issue with one of the burners recently. My wife came home and said she smelt gas. Coincidently I was feeling off and had a headache. Did not smell it at all, you could only notice it after being outside for a while. Anyway - I told her she was crazy and then got my gas detector. There was a very slight leak, not enough to set off the CO2 detectors, but enough to cause a bit of a headache. So not sure I buy a lot of the hype around the ban, but no doubt (IMO) it can affect you short term very quickly.

Carbon monoxide is one of the byproducts of burning fossil fuels. CO2 is what gives soda its fizz. A gas leak is a serious/urgent problem, can cause health issues and needs to be immediately addressed. If you smell gas in your home, you need to get someone out to find the source and resolve it. It can cause an explosion if enough accumulates in an enclosed area.

Carbon monoxide and CO2 are not the same thing.
Carbon MONoxide would be CO1.
Carbon DIoxide is CO2.

Have gas. When I snowbird every winter, the condo has electric and it drives me crazy. Definitely don’t like.

Yup, like I said, it all depends on what you are used to.
