Ejected from the park!

My friends and I saw an entire family heavily questioned (and presumably in serious trouble) at Pleasure Island in January of 2008.

It was a pretty calm night, and we were waiting in line for the Comedy Warehouse. At the time, the 3 guys with us were all 21-22, and us three girls were all 19-20 (me being the baby). I am definitely the most aware of Disney policy, and was looking around when I noticed younger teens, maybe 14-16 sitting at a table with a lady maybe in her late 20s or early 30s. Then I saw the mom (I heard them call her that) come over, put down her adult beverages, go back to the bar, and come back with more. Next thing I know, the kids are quite obviously drinking the beer! There was no way it wasn't, and no way it was "apple juice" or anything. It was foamy and clearly beer. Just as I mentioned what was going on to my friends, a CM walked over and started questioning them. In a matter of a minute or two, a few more CMs were over, and then who I presumed to be a security officer, and they were being heavily questioned. Of course then we had to go in for the show, but when we came out, there was no trace of them.

When I was on the College Program, I worked at Uptown Jewelers in the MK which is right above security. We were the store where people were brought to make restitutions when they were caught shoplifting. Security would stay with them while they paid for their merchandise and then escort them to the front gate. So yes, people are ejected from time to time.

thanks.. I knew I had heard something about it. I wonder what ever came of that???
According to the Orlando Sentinel et al (quoted in Wikipedia):

In the cast member's statement to the sheriff's office, he claimed that he was acting in self-defense as the child was pulling on the back of the costume and causing him to lose his breath. A lawyer for the employee accused in the 2004 case against Tigger released his own opinion on the situation. He believed the child instigated the situation and that cast member's movements were an involuntary reaction to pain. The lawyer was not representing the accused cast member at the time of this statement.

On February 15, 2007*, the State Attorney General's office announced that no charges would be filed against the cast member.

(*less than six weeks after the initial incident!)

We were in Spaceship Earth when it had one of it's unscheduled stops. While we were awaiting a restart, a group of teens climbed out of their boat and into an exhibit. Despite overhead warnings, they remained out of their boats, taking pictures of themselves, and having quite a party during our wait. However, they were met by a large group of security guards when we pulled in at the end of the ride.

Wow, that's pretty bold on their part. I would bet they got kicked out.

Not sure the ride vehicles are boats on SSE, though.

So when do we start the "Who can get kicked out of Disney the fastest?" contest?

oh wait.......

And I would place a pretty good bet that teens "banned" from disney for life could easily come back with families. While Disney doesn't have to distinguish between juvenile and adult "crimes", I bet there are few ways to properly ID a teen later in life. Unless they are taking down social security numbers or fingerprints, almost every other identifier would be different (I know my drivers license and address are different, not even the same state). And I doubt they can get away with recording such personal information in the first place.

I wonder how many grown-ups are out there, thinking they can never go back to Disney with their children, significant other or by themselves.

That's just plain insane. I really have a hard time believing Disney will refuse to let a 30 + year old back into the park for something stupid they did as a teen.

I would guess that, if someone approached Disney beforehand, Disney would "forgive" that sort of past offense and tell the person to go ahead and visit with family. The very act of asking indicates the person has matured and is now recognizing Disney's right to patrol its own property.

But if someone is on the black list and goes to one of the parks anyhow, while they'd probably get in, if for any reason they came to Disney's attention, Disney could tag them for trespassing and I wouldn't be surprised or upset if Disney did so (depending on the reason the person came to their notice).

Awhile ago while on a SOLO trip I was at HS exiting the Ladies room by TOT/Beauty and the Beast When A lady aproached me pointed down to a stroller and asked "Is this your baby?" I was shocked and almost thought it was some kind of joke I told her no and she said she had just come out of the ladies room and found the child there unattended- after asking everyone in both restrooms she had flaged down a CM who called security. Once they arrived- I went about my way. I was really trying not to be the person who hangs around to see what happens. I went and got a FP for TOT and as I passed them on the way back the child was being whisked away, and a rather angry couple was argueing that it was there baby and a teenage son was supposed to be watching. There was a rather scared looking tween approaching with food in his hands. I can only assume he was supposed to watch the baby while mom and dad rode something and thought it was perfectly ok to park the stroller in front of the bathrooms and go get food. I got half way down the street- when curiosity again got the better of me and I turned around and they had all disapeared.

On another trip with my husband- we were rushing into the land to get FP's for Soarin when we passed an angry father yelling at a CM about the way his son was treated- before we even reached the door the man- the cm and his entire family had magically vanished.

The long arm of mouse law seems to opperate very swiftly. Not to speak ill of humanity- but with the sheer volume of people passing through those magical gates every day it is only natural that a few "bad apples" will find thier way into the parks, missunderstandings are bound to happen, and with the heat and crowds meltdowns from kids of all ages are to be expected. Not in any way trying to excuse bad behaivior- just trying to point out that it proubably happens more often than we realize and it is a true testiment to how efficiantly the Cm's and Security opperate that we do not "see" the aftermaths of such instances more often.

I like this thread. Thanks OP for posting. :thumbsup2 Nice change from "what will the crowds be like when I go" threads. :lmao: :rolleyes1

Having had a few people get really snippy at us and seeing how easily and FAST something can escalate, this thread put my mind at ease to know that A: something is done to at least some offenders and B: there are people everywhere ready to squash civil ******* like a bug. ;) It also makes me think twice about removing that wedgie in the dark on a ride or DH picking his nose thinking "He's alone". :rotfl2: Notice how I said it was DH doing the picking. :upsidedow

all this talk about getting ejected from the park got me wondering,,,do or have kids (young ones) ever been banned ?

I haven't seen it happen, but as I understand it from my sister, if a member of a school group/organization of whatever type (sports team, cheerleaders, band, etc.) is caught shoplifting, that school/organization is banned from sending groups to Disney again.

im talking kid kids,,,say 2-10 age? hey some kids can be a royal PITA and cause a major distubance and downright tantrum screaming and kicking (a CM for instance or higher-up)

Seriously??

I usually just lurk these threads, but 2 - 10 getting kicked out? There's clearly a difference between a young child having a temper tantrum and a teen being unruly and disrespectful.

This question is ridiculous!

I have never seen it happen but I have seen a few incidents where someone should have been ejected for their behavior. But I have to say for the most part people at Disney are pretty patient and pleasant people just enjoying family time.

Yep, the Shoplifting Senior Trip will prevent every other group from that school from being able to visit the Mouse. Don't ask how I know, thankfully my kids weren't involved or shut out.

I think it was a valid question. I've seen some pretty ugly "temper tantrums" and helpless parents, but unless it really attracts attention (and abuse concerns) people and CM's generally mind their own business.
