Local Lidi is showing $1.77 for dozen large eggs.
$1.27 dozen at our Aldi
$1.57 a dozen at Meijer.
You really do have to check. Sometimes the bigger amount is the more expensive on a per unit basis. Sneaky they are. Very sneaky.I paid $3.46 for 18 count at Walmart on Wednesday. They still show the same price on the website. Although a 36 count pkg of 2 18's costs $9.17. Why not just buy 2 separate packages and pay $6.92? lol
Yeah - same for so many things. You really do have to check. Sometimes the bigger amount is the more expensive on a per unit basis. Sneaky they are. Very sneaky.
Eggs are an excellent value, even at $6 per dozen.
That's odd, I just checked, 9:45 am and the price is still $4.32 at the Madison Walmart.I may go over there and check it out. Maybe pick up some Arbys while there : )
edited to add: I just looked at shop walmart and it's saying $7.92 for Great Value 18 count eggs. Last time this happened I bought the brown eggs as they were cheaper (showing $3.92) but they did not have any brown eggs when I was there today. After reading all your responses, I thought maybe I missed something but I didn't. These are the same eggs I bought last week for $3++ (don't remember the exact price).
Those are even "Cage Free", which are generally more expensive, aren't they? That's odd, I just checked, 9:45 am and the price is still $4.32 at the Madison Walmart.View attachment 832801
It's illegal to sell anything but cage free eggs in California, so all the brands are cage free. Those are even "Cage Free", which are generally more expensive, aren't they?
My local walmart:
