Eggs back up

I like to splurge for eggs. The cage-free, jumbo, brown eggs I buy are 3.72 a dozen right now. Same price as always.

That's odd, I just checked, 9:45 am and the price is still $4.32 at the Madison Walmart.W
What is going on at my Walmart???? We are only a few miles away from each other. $4.32 is a dollar more than I paid last week but much better than the $7 I saw this week. I'm probably going back in Sunday am so I'll look. Just looked....same eggs, 5 miles apart:

Guess I'm making the trip over there and getting me some Arbys in the process.

I wonder if a store ended up switching the location of the eggs. So someone who thought they were picking up the "generic store brand" actually picked up the "cage free, organic" ones. 🤔
I don't know if you are talking about the Aldi post above or my $7 eggs but in CA, all eggs are cage free and the one's that I buy are the normal, cheaper eggs that TVGuy and I both posted.

For $2 more you can buy 60 eggs. photo.jpg

Shoot, I might as well just go over and buy the 60 for the price they want for 18. It boggles my mind because usually the prices are the same around here at the different Walmarts. Excuse to go to Arbys I guess.

$1.49 for a dozen large at my local Meijer in NE Ohio which is a little lower than I’ve seen recently. They’ve been about $1.79.

I hope eggs haven't gone back up. Here is a from about a year and a half ago when large eggs were up to $6.39 here in NYC. The general price now is about $4.50 - $5.50.

I usually have to buy eggs at Target where they are usually $1.99 a dozen. I was in a specialty grocery store last week and saw they had a special on 18 eggs for $3 and I snapped them up.

We're talking store brand eggs here. Egglands Best are always about $2 a dozen more.

Here in NYC, there is no shelf space for alternate brands of items. This is the only eggs in a supermarket, unless one gets the organic eggs for more money.

Same with canned veggies. One buys the Del Monte brand at $2 per can, or they don't buy them at all. I stock up as much as possible on the $.79 Walmart brand canned veggies the rare times I get there.

So interesting. I've bought these same egs (brand and size) for the past 3 years and they have solidly been $3.99 at my local Wegman's.
