Last year, I remember there was an excellent thread with all different eggnog recipes. I'd thought I'd subscribed to it, but apparently, I didn't. The new search feature hasn't helped me to find it.

Soooo, now that my kids have consumed 4 gallons of eggnog over the holidays and my DH is enjoying his first glass this year with the last 6 oz or so of it (I have had nada), I was hoping that the DIS can rescue me from an eggnog free existence.

Do you have an eggnog recipe you'd like to share?

I actually found 2 eggnog recipes in a magazine this year and wrote them down. Now if I can remember where I put them:upsidedow One was for eggnog cheesecake and one for eggnog cookies. I'll try to find those.

I am also interested.
Eons ago, I had a recipe for eggnog fudge, which used canned powdered eggnog, which I have not found around here in years.

Episode: Christmas

6 egg, separated*
3/4 cup sugar
1 pint heavy cream
4 pints milk
1/2 pint Bourbon
1 tablespoon vanilla
Nutmeg

In a bowl beat the egg yolks with the 1/2 cup of sugar until thick. In another bowl beat the egg whites with 1/4 cup of sugar until thick. In a third bowl beat the cream until thick. Add the cream to the yolks, fold in the egg whites, and add the milk, Bourbon, vanilla, and a pinch of nutmeg, if desired. Chill in freezer before serving.
Serve eggnog in a large punch bowl.

This is the one I use - it is from Southern Living 1983 Annual Recipies CookBook:

6 eggs, separated
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups whipping cream
2 cups milk
3/4 to 1 cup brandy or whisky
Ground nutmeg

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored; gradually add sugar, beating well. Stir in whipping cream, milk, and brandy.
Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until soft peaks form. Fold into brandy mixture. Chill thoroughly. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Yield: 8 cups.

This is the "lighter" version, which I haven't tried:

3 eggs, separated
3 cups skim milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon brandy flavoring
Ground nutmeg

Combine milk, egg yolks, and sugar in a medium saucepan, mixing well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly 7 to 8 min. or until mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat, stir in flavorings. Cover and chill.
To serve, beat egg whites (at room temperature) until soft peaks form; fold egg whites into yolk mixture. Sprinke each serving with nutmeg and serve immediately. Yield: 4 1/2 cups (73 calories per 1/2 cup serving)
