DH and I did the inaugural EEC last year and we had so much fun we decided to repeat this year again.
We were in wave 8 (all the way in the back), I am a walker so I try to stay as far away from the front as I can to allow runners and joggers to have a good start.
We had fun, but we agree completely with figment82's evaluation.
I am from Florida, I have worked on the emergency operations center for the state and we drill on people's head the importance of seeking shelter during a storm, so when the lightning started I made a V line to the buses, I was disappointed that no announcements were being made on the loud speakers to tell people to seek shelter.
We managed to go through the obstacle course (it WAS fun going through the mud on the crawl net, I am not gonna lie

), and I felt refreshed by the rain even though I was nearly blind by the time I crossed the finish line thanks to the water and sweat combo getting into my eyes.
We finished all our clues but they weren't taking our passports anymore (would have been helpful to have a general announcement at the finish line, someone with a bull horn would have been enough to let us know to not look around lost trying to figure out where to turn them in and not to look for the finishing line photo op like last year, you know with a backdrop and all).
We were going to trek back to EE for a ride and take a ride photo with our medals on, but DH thought better about it and actually approached a CM manning a drink cart and asked him if it was open since the lightning was bad, of course it wasn't, silly me! Duh! So we just ran like mad to the bus.
We sorta knew where to go from last year, but a lot of people were totally lost, a bunch of CM's didn't know where to direct them, which puts everybody in danger (it was storming really badly by then), we got to the bus and everybody seemed to be steaming because the decals on the medals were peeling right off!!!

I had part of it on my cheek! Another couple was really sad and disappointed because they didn't even get to do the obstacle course, I gave them my light up pen since we had two, I felt so bad.
I am staring at the medal's lanyard right now and it is a far cry from last year's I am very very disappointed in that. I work with vendors and do things like these for a living and I would be calling my contacts hopping mad and demanding a refund if it was my company.
DH and I kept my Palm Pre with us during the race, I was scared that it would be ruined since we literally looked like we had jumped in a pool by the end, turns out the phone case protected it just fine and after reading the horror stories of other phones and electronics being ruined I am so happy I didn't check anything in! We had to do laundry the next day at AKL because even our undies were totally soaked and in FL humidity clothes get moldy

, we didn't want our T-shirts to get ruined as well! (BTW this year they weren't even glow in the dark like last year's!)
All in all, yes, we had fun, I even got to meet the moms from the Mom's panel and walk with them for a while, but the apparent lack of weather contingency plan was a let-down. I expect way better than that from Disney.
At least I beat my 5K time from last year's by at least 8 minutes, yay me! But the scavenger portion took us way too long since our shoes were filled with water and my feet were hydroplaning in them

. At least I am proud I did it all even when it was really raining and storming bad.
Also... moving the race to JUNE?!?!??! WHAT?! Are they trying to kill us?

I am not sure I will take part on it next year,
