So, I looked at the park hours for our trip next month and find that they both open at 8 and close at 10.
We planned to do EE since we'll be at CB and won't have EP. Do they open at 7, or before then? Gosh that's early.

What is EE, if you don't mind me asking?

I believe you are inquiring about Universal. You may want to repost on that forum.

I would say yes, since by the hours, it seems to be a busy time. However, you most likely can still get there closer to 8, and get a better chance of being ahead of those that don't have the early entry from the hotels.

Oh, and early is relative. I find at least one morning, it's doable.

yes it is 7 and it is early and you may find not much open for breakfast at that time so plan accordingly

Yes, EE will be at 7:00. Unfortunately, because of being right in town, Universal is limited on how many days they can stay open late because of noise ordinances. That is also why they don't have large fire works displays regularly. They tend to save those days for hard ticket events like HHN, RTU, and Gradfest; and Christmas. I guess I'm a little surprised they can run Dragon Challenge at 7:00 a.m. because that is one of the rides that causes the problems. It could help because school is out. (Dragon Challenge is right across the street from Dr. Phillips High School).

When we were at Cabana bay in October early entry was 7am. The foodcourt at the hotel didn't open until 7am but starbucks at the hotel was open early. I think we got the bus 6.30am - did the early entry twice.

I had read before that early entry was for only 1 park a day. Is that still true or will both parks have early entry. This is our first trip to Diagon Alley and I want to take advantage of EE on the day we visit there, most likely 6/28. I was going to post this as a new thread, but hopefully it can just be answered here. thanks

That's my understanding. It was only IOA our five days in March. But it seems to have been both over the busy Easter weeks. Then back to IOA every day. It could change again, I guess, if it gets really busy again.

If EE is at 7am, what time should we leave our room at RPR?

Our first day we planned to check in around 7am. Looks like we won't make EE now :/

That's interesting because when they had EE at 7 a.m. in the spring (when the park opened and closed early for grad nights), they did not actually start running Dragon Challenge until close to 8 a.m. There was no official explanation, and it didn't occur to me that it was an early morning noise issue. But that may be different in the summer.

If you don't mind getting up early on vacation, 7 a.m. EE is nice because it reduces the number of guests who actually make it there before the gates opened. And for HP fanatics, it can be fun to be standing outside waiting at a ridiculously early hour like 6:30 a.m. My normally late-sleeping child actually loved it.

Calablovedisney-- It is at both parks right now and is supposedly going to be at both until the beginning of August.

Thanks! We will plan to be there early our full day there. Boy, nothing like catching a 7 a.m. flight and then trying to get there for EE the following day. Should be fun with 2 teens! We shall see if we can do it. It's worth it, though. Plenty of time to chill by the pool later. (Weather permitting-last time we had bad storms and our Universal days look pretty gray on the forecast so far, but we will just see)

Just head over after you check in. When we went a few years ago, before Diagon Alley, I think we left our room from RPH at 7:15 or so and walked over. We didn't wait too long for FJ, but I love that queue anyway. Of course, I think it is worse for Diagon Alley, but I doubt we will be in line at 6:30 with 2 teen girls. It will actually be my younger dd 14th bday the day we go. Hopefully, she likes the idea of getting up early!

if we can get to RPR that early lol. We'll have to see how early we can get out of bed at the Embassy on Intl Dr. I want to get to RPR as early as possible, so i guess we will head to Diagon alley as soon as we can after we drop off our bags. Any extra time is better than nothing I suppose :) And at least we can try again the next day to be there super early

I called the front desk at PBH hotel a couple of days ago to ask about how early we could check in. We're checking in on July 15. She said both parks have EE through August 2nd or somewhere around then. Also you can check in as early as you want, but the room most likely won't be ready until 3:00 or so.

Another question about EE, are any other rides/attractions open during the extra hour besides the Harry Potter stuff? Wanting to squeeze in Despicable Me during that extra hour if possible.

We fly out on a 5:40 am flight the day we get there, arriving at MCO around 7:15. I'm going to die. But, it's just a long weekend and we wanted lots of time in Orlando. So, we'll not be making EE the first day, but plan on it for at least two of the other three mornings we are there. I may fall asleep at the pool in the afternoons and I usually don't nap.

In October when universal was open early at 7am gringotts/diagon alley and despicable me were open.
