EE Help!

Thanks everyone! One more question. When it goes backward, does it go down a hill & then up before going forward. It's hard to tell on the you tube videos I've watched

Basically when you start to go backwards your already facing up, so you go down before you go on a little up hill.

Has anyone actually gotten sick from riding it? I'm really concerned about that.

I've never had any kind of motion sickness, so I'm curious whether any type of motion sickness pills or bands would work to help with questionable rides. I'm taking my cousin and her two 12 year old boys for their first visit in October. All three get car sick any time they are in the car for longer than 30 miles. She gives them some type of non-drowsy Dramamine before leaving. I keep thinking they will outgrow this, but I'm not sure they will. Anyway, this is their first, and probably only Disney visit, and they've never even ridden any type of amusement park rides for fear of getting sick. They did go on a Disney cruise, took pills each day, and didn't have a problem with the motion on the ship. We thought we would just give them these non-drowsy pills before leaving the resort each morning, then just go ahead and ride. I've shown them videos of EE, Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, etc. Anyone that has motion sickness, do you think taking a pill each morning before riding would keep you from getting sick on rides? I would hate to have the day ruined by them getting sick from their first ride, and I would hate for them to at least not try what I consider some of the best Disney attractions! Opinions?

Here is my experience. I don't get quite as motion sick as these kiddos, but I do if reading or riding backwards in a car. Do not do Mission Space Orange under any circumstances. It will ruin the rest of the day. I felt like I was going to lose the entirety of my insides. On the motion simulators, if they begin to feel sick, have them close their eyes. For me, the sickness comes from a misalignment of the video with the motion (very slight, but my stomach can find it). I don't have any trouble with the coasters as the visual input matches the motion. Do the kids do better in the front seat of the car? This definitely helps me as I can see the motion and my stomach can make sense of everything.

I agree about Mission Space Orange and would not even consider it. I have no problems with motion and the G-forces were too much for me. One and done. I've done Mission Space Green also and wondered if even that would bother them. The kids always sit in the backseat since there are 2 of them (twins) and only one extra front seat. She usually just gives them a pill before leaving home to avoid any upset stomachs. I'm not sure of what motion sickness pills she uses. They will be 12 in October and are big for their age. I've tried to tell her that even 5 year olds do roller coasters and I would hate for them to not ride because of the fear they "might" get sick. On the other hand, I don't want them to get sick on their first ride and ruin the whole day! Thanks for your suggestions.

I love roller coasters, and ride them all at Disney without issues (and other parks). I never imagined I wouldn't like EE, but hadn't watched any videos or anything and didn't realize it went backwards. I quite enjoyed the ride. Until the backwards part. I honestly thought I was going to throw up or pass out. When I came off, I was super sweaty, dizzy and nauseous. I immediately had to sit down right at the exit and put a cold water bottle on my neck. I couldn't even make it to the gift shop. After about 10 minutes I moved to the gift shop, and found a corner to sit down, for another 10-15 minutes before I could think about getting up and moving on. However, I honestly felt sick for the rest of the day. I would love to go again but just don't think I can handle it :(
