ECV off property just me and dd

Am I crazy? I have a reservation from Apple scooters but we are staying off property. It is the basic scooter that says it comes apart in 15 seconds into 5 pieces. It doesn't say how heavy or bulky the pieces are? It will just be me and my 9 year old daughter. The reason for the scooter is a cronic knee issue so I will be able to function in terms of putting it in the car, I'm just worried it will be crazy heavy and bulky and I'll look like an idiot every time I have to pull it in or out of the car.

Just make sure you are getting the Go-Go Elite Traveler and not the Victory or Celebrity. It is designed to be broken down and the heaviest part is only 28 pounds. I have a Celebrity-X and the highest weight part is about 50 pounds.

Also, the charger plugs into the battery pack so you can leave the rest of the ECV in the trunk overnight and only have to bring the battery into the room.

even with the Pride smaller scooters. The base piece is bulky and long and hard to lift and put in the car especially if you are a shorter person.

I won't say it can't be done, but it's tough. The lifting up to the height of the trunk and getting it inside is no fun.

My best suggestion here is go to a local medical supply store that carries Pride to go scooters and try it for yourself. They know you want to ride it and see if it fits into your car trunk, etc. They always have a demo model for you to try.

Obviously you can rent from the park even though it costs more and this may be a better option. Is there any chance the 9 year old can help you with the parts of the scooter even if it's just to hold it until you can get each end lifted up and then out of the trunk for the base, bottom piece?

I would also call Apple and let them know your concerns. I will be using them when I go and I had some concerns about the size of the scooter and my weight. They took the time to explain it to me and gave me some options. I felt relieved after talking with them. Hope this helps. Much success.
