Staying at the YC. Is it posssible to get an ECV at the gateway or do you have to go to guest relations in the front of the park?

And where can you drop it off?

The Epcot Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities isn't real clear on the answer. They list the places where you can get wheelchairs - the shop to the left of Spaceship Earth and International Gateway and list the gift shop to the right of the entrance turnstiles. you drop them off at the same places you got them. They specify that only wheelchairs (not ECVs) are available at the gift shop loaction. Then they indicate that a limited number of ECVs are available on a first come, first served basis. That certainly makes it sound like ECVs might be rented at International Gateway.
hopefully, someone has first hand experience and can answer this.
Otherwise, you could try calling WDW RESORTS/SPECIAL RESERVATIONS
(407) 939-7807 [voice]
(407) 939-7670 [TTY] and see if they can help you.

Yes, they have them at both entrances to Epcot, subject to availability. You migh want to rent one by the week though, from Walker or Randy's or Care medical.

There are ECV's at the International Gateway, although not as many as in the front of Epcot. My mom rented one at the front of Epcot and returned it that evening at the International Gateway with no problem.

Thanks for the information. my mom is coming to the Dis_Con with me and will need to use an ECV when we are doing lots of touring. It will be helpful to know we can pick one up (if there is one) at the IG.

Love how helpful everyone is here!

Pumbaa__, you may want to consider renting by the length of stay rather than just at the parks. The distances between things at the resorts can be vast, and that walk back to the resort -- even the Y&B -- can be daunting for tired people at the end of a park day. Here are some links you may want to check out:

Walker Mobility
Care Medical
Randy's Mobility

I have rented WDW EVCs at both the International Gateway & at the location near Spaceship Earth. I have never had problems renting at one EPCOT location & returning the ECV at the other EPCOT location. I was at WDW last week & never had a problem getting an ECV at a WDW park. However, I did observe on my two visits to the Magic Kingdom last week that they tend to run out of charged up EVCs by late afternoon/early evening. One evening I got the last charged up ECV. Another good thing - the WDW ECVs have been repaired/fixed/whatever - new seats & arms & batteries that allow you to go a bit faster than my previous visits. I verified this with CMs at each park. A hint when using an ECV - bring a white or light colored towel from your room to put over the seat so one, it doesn't get hot in the sun & two, your legs don't stick to the seat.
