Those of you who've been writing that you're rather disappointed in the latest installment of the Outlander series are going to be shocked:

William has done something INTERESTING, and I'm actually glad the catamount didn't eat him! For a moment -- when he was trying to kill a snake with a cast iron frying pan -- I had a glimpse of the books I've loved, and at this point I am actually feeling involved with William's part of the plot.

Ian's portion is really getting better too; of course, I've always loved Ian, whereas I've been rather ambivalent about William.

Jamie and Claire aren't doing much here mid-book though.

Back to my reading . . .

I'm still reading Dragonfly in Amber... I have a feeling that I'm not going to like the next books as much, from how I hear people talk about them.

I'm trying to hang in there. I made a bit more progress last night but still, I'm just not looking forward to getting back to that book like I normally do when I read. I'm so disappointed so far...

maelstrom--With the exception of The Fiery Cross, I really enjoyed all of the books equally. The big thing for me was the time between the last one (number 6, I believe) and then this one. It was WAY too long for me so that I really just lost interest in the story. That was hard to do because at the end of the 6th one I really wanted some resolution. Couldn't believe I had to wait so long for this one. And I'm just not having fun with it.
