I thought this was the whole point of having kids??:confused3 More mules to help carry my booze. If this isn't the case, I might have to rethink this having kids things!!

:lmao: Yes you do have kids so that they can do things for you. You just need to know where to draw the line. :rotfl2: I guess my kids carrying my liquor is my line, don't worry, you'll find yours! :rotfl:

Yes, you can bring your own on the ship as long as you carry it on and do not pack it. You are free to consume it in your room without a corkage fee. If you bring it into the MDRs, there is a $20 corkage fee. I don't drink wine, I perfer vodka, but my sister is a huge wine drinker. She just brings her own and has a glass before dinner. Don't forget your corkscrew opener! My sister walks by a bar on the first night and asks for a wine glass and uses it in the room.

I am not sure about the selections or prices but I know you can per-order a wine package.

And don't worry, you are late on your alcohol consumption planning, one of the first things I asked was, Is there a liquor store within walking distance to Disneyland? Got to stock up in Cali before we board.

I'm with you....
I have googled it and know exactly where the liquor store is and how to get there from GC. :rolleyes1

There's no way my 9 year old will be able to help me wrangle my, shall we say, "bottle collection." He'll be too busy hauling all the FE gifts!

No wonder my sister gets mad when I call my niece and nephew my little indentured servants and whistle for them, guess I crossed her line! Actually, after my sister watched the Sound of Music the first time, she made a whistle call for me and I responded to it for years. Sometimes she still does it!:rotfl2:and crap, you just guilted me into being a responsible and caring future parent!:thumbsup2

And before all parents on this board warn their children to stay away from the crazy drunk kid-less lady, I swear thousands of parents have left their children in my care for weeks on end, summer after summer (eight summers to be exact) and I have won many awards for my work with children, no lie!

Okay folks, I'm trying to "drink-in" all 208 pages and the fabulous website. I know the answer is in here somewhere and i'm about to make my flight arrangements.

1) By what time to we need to be at the World Cruise Center in LA on the 9th and
2) What is the earliest time to make a flight from Ft. Lauderdale after arrival in Miami?

Sorry for so many newbie questions. :scared:

Way to tease! You are making me thirsty and I still have a few hours left in the office! I'll wait till 5 to break out the whiskey from my freezer. Hopefully some people will have left by then.

Ask away....
Normally debarkation runs very smoothly but, as this will be the first time Disney docks in Miami it could take awhile longer. Therefore, we will be flying out of FLL at 2:20. Figured that would give us plenty of time to get there.
I believe that as long as you are on the ship about 1/2 hour before Muster Drill you should be fine. Also, the port is in San Pedro.
Don't worry. If I have given you any wrong info someone here will set you straight.

Since we have so many newbies here (and since I have so much spare time right now) I thought it might be fun and informative to give out some tips that we have discovered cruising Disney. I'm sure I'll learn some things to. I'll start with a couple.

The coffee table in the cabin raises and lowers. This makes it handy for room service and for kids to color, etc. I didn't learn about this until my second cruise.

Order coffee from room service the night before and it will stay hot in the carafe overnight. In the morning you have your first cup while getting ready for the day.

Judy

My favorite on a 14 day cruise is to have room service deliver me cookies and iced tea in the laundry room when I am doing the clothes on a middle sea night.

QUOTE=Cruise;46481901]I'm a solo cruiser and I did actually get the IGT. I just went to the website and put in a solo cruiser to check the rate. The difference between what I paid for the IGT and what the OGT is going for now is .... $279.00

I'd say go ahead and book it and treat yourself to a window for $279. :)[/QUOTE]

Well, I finally went ahead and booked the OGT.
Can we agree that the difference in price we solo cruisers pay is still excessive? And, you know that Disney changed the single supplement from 175% to 200%.
And, I am still paying for a porthole, split bathroom, more storage, and more room than my singular self requires.:upsidedow

So, my original offer to Cabin Swap (see post#3063) is still open. Anyone who booked an IGT, and was not lucky enough to get pixie dusted to a better cabin, and still thinking about an upgrade to an Oceanview...keep me in mind. :wave2:

Thanks,
Pam

No! Pretty Please with sugar on it?
I have been following this thread since the beginning. But Procrastination delayed my booking until today.:guilty:

I have my FE stuff ready and waiting to be packed. (Store bought but good stuff and useful.):flower3:
If I could be placed on a FE group even late as I am, it would be a nice treat for my other cruisemates. I will still hang my FE outside my cabin, even if I do not get to join a group. Maybe some kindhearted souls will take pity on me and drop off a small trinket. :sad1:
Hey, I'll even take leftover Halloween candy.:rotfl:

I certainly will not expect anything...Especially from the craft making folks. I've seen some of the surprises you people turn out in other DisBoard Threads. I could never hope to compete. :worship: I don't have a crafty bone in my whole body.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well Pam, perhaps we could do our own FE with any other late bookers. I was going to bring my FE as well b/c it's so cute. My husband was disappointed b/c he made little treasure chests with deblume cufflinks for the men on last cruise. But again, i understand that a cutoff is a cutoff. Folks have been planning way longer than us. :-)

Appreciate it! actually there are some good fares out of Miami so i may just do the disney transfers from port to MIA airport.
Also just decided to fly into Long Beach since it's about 10-15 min from the port.

thanks again for putting up with my questions!

Mojitos anyone?;)

Beth

:rotfl: How about... mojito, singular? I've learned that 4 mojitos are apparently too much for me. :faint:

Well, I finally went ahead and booked the OGT.

Yeah, I realized they changed it from 175% to 200% which is crazy to me. But I got in under the 175% before it went up. So, comparing apples to apples, I think your cruise fare "per person" is actually LESS than what my cruise fare "per person" was. If you're only paying $279 more and that has to include the rise from 175% to 200%. Or... maybe it's the same rate as the IGT and the $279 just reflects the 25% increase (minus port fees and taxes). Don't make me do math. :lmao:

What I've seen some people do is have a separate "late comers" FE group and then any of those in the original group that have extras join that group as well. For example, I believe we're at 72 cabins. If someone in the original group decided to do all 72 cabins, but the supplies they ordered only came in lots of 100, they might have extras and be willing to join the second, late comers group.

If one of you wanted to organize that, you might have a few people join in. :)
