EBPC December 9, 2012!!! Who's in????

We have an undecided room as well. All I know is when I called Disney they said two weeks. My 5 yr old just thinks it is amazing that there is a "hotel" on the ship. So, I am hoping his excitement and our lack of knowledge of what is better out there will make us LOVE every minute of our 14 days.
 
Yes, they have a shuttle. It runs every 45 minutes. The website that the car has to be picked up at the Miami port location to access the shuttle.

This is all according to their website--no personal experience at the Miami port yet!

I was very taken aback (in a good way) with the dramatic decrease in rental prices from when we first booked. It's a bit of a hassle when we get to Orlando but well worth it for the substantial savings.

Hmm. I may have to rebook. I didn't know there was a shuttle. The price difference is a cab ride vs. $5 additional for the car. We are flying out of Orlando late in the day. I couldn't find any info on the shuttle from the port to the airport. I'll look again. Thanks for the info!

I agree! I have rejected anything for the FE that wasn't tiny or flat or disposable during the cruise. They all fit in a reasonable space in my luggage. But I'm glad I only have to jump in a rental car in Miami and drive home. :drive: I plan on bringing an extra duffle for all the FE gifts. They do add up! My kids love going through everything again after we get home. Sometimes it is too much to really take in during the cruise. :goodvibes

The information about the shuttle was in the confirmation email:

"Shuttle service to and from the Port is available from 8am to 3pm, 7 days a week and is ONLY available from the Miami Cruise Ship location. When arriving at the port, proceed to the designated pick up area and look for the Dollar shuttle which comes approximately every 45 minutes. Shuttle distance to the location is about 8 miles.

Instructions for shuttle service to and from the Port -- Customers needing shuttle service from the Port must book the Miami Cruise Ship location MIAP01, as the pick-up location. "

For all those who requested a paper tree for their door. Here is what one looks like:

It is a little under 17" wide and 22" tall. The magnets on it are between 1.5" diameter to 2.5" diameter.

Thank you MaryLou. This helps out a lot. We hope to meet friends from the New York area for lunch for the hour or 2 that we are in the WDW area, then off to the airport for a late flight. I have Budget booked now but for $5 more I can get a Dollar car and save the time and money on the cab. I'll go book now and cancel one or the other later.

Does anyone remember the days before the internet? Once you booked something, you never changed it back then, lol. Now with the info at our fingertips, the deals just keep happening and shopping around is so much easier. Although I am afraid to try to PriceLine our hotel precruise. I think I'll stick with what we have to avoid any disappointment.
 
I've been on the Wonder and the Magic and the fridges are the same. More of a cool ice box like holula said but it did keeps things very cool, just not cold.

If your fridge isn't cooling things enough, ask your stateroom host to have it adjusted. Not all of them are set at the same temperature. We just took the last Pixar cruise and our fridge was so COLD that my insulin froze!

No Halloween decorations on the ship, but with all the Pixar characters, it wasn't necessary. We even had Sully & Mike.:cool1:
 
Got out GTY assignment... 2511 so no upgrade. :( Blah. I need to stop booking 11Cs as I don't want deck 2!!! Was hoping for some pixie dust but DCL clearly doesn't like me that much.

Your post made me go look to see if we had a room assignment. YAY! We are in 2026 - directly across from the forward elevators. We had an 11B GTY, and now have a porthole. So - no need to upgrade at the port. Whew! Brother & sister-in-law had 2020 on a transatlantic cruise and liked it, so I'm sure we'll be fine.

Thanks for the Dollar car rental info. I made a reservation and now need to compare whether it actually works out cheaper or not. Since they charge for my extra 2 hrs by the hour (rather than an extra day) it seems cheaper, but the fees and taxes add an additional $50. Yuck.

There is so much to do - and so many places to be - outside your stateroom, you likely *WILL* love every minute of it. (The only time we ever didn't love every minute, was the recent Hawaii cruise when all ALL the sea days were cold, windy and rocky and our dark inside stateroom became a cosy sanctuary.)

Hi everyone. We're so excited to be joining all of you on this EBPC cruise. We did the WBPC in January 2011 and decided it would be great to take the same ship back the other way. It will be me (Heather) and DH Mike. This will be our 7th Disney cruise - #6 is later this month on the Fantasy for my birthday.

We'd also like to join in the FE exchange.

Hi, Heather, I just saw that we will be neighbors. We are in 5144 and our friends are in 5146. Not sure how I'll like the back of the ship but it looks like it will be a very quiet corridor. At least I don't have to carry my wine glass very far to go to dinner. :cheer2:

We were also on the WBPC Jan 2011.

I had the same reservation and just checked and the price has dropped to $115 total. I didn't see if there's a AAA code, but rebooked at the cheaper price.

I decided to check out the hotel price in Long Beach and it dropped, so I rebooked that one too.

Thank you so much! I just rebooked my minivan rental and saved $32 :cool1:
 
Well, FE gifts are long done so I ran out to Michaels today to buy supplies to make the actual FE. Found everything I needed, but saw super cute stuff to add to the gifts. My dh is gonna be peeved....:rotfl:
 
$2240 for 2 adults

$4,611.88 for 2 adults, 2 kids.

Invite the friends.........that's what I just did.

My guess is VGT will be announced soon.
 
Read the last post and was a confused new cruiser. What is Ogt and Vgt and what are those rates for? Thanks. Sherry

I just googled Ogt and laughed at what came up. My favorite was Orginal Gangster Tool!
