This will be our third Disney cruise and we have always wanted to do the Panama Canal. We booked the IGT room so we will see what we end up with. We had good luck with booking the GTY room for our Mediterranean cruise aboard the Magic, so we are hopeful this time too. We are excited about our trip and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Our son, Hunter, will be 13 at the time of the cruise and we are from San Diego.:cool1: He said he didn't care where we cruised as long as it was on Disney. We have cruised with others but Disney is the best and we can't wait.

....The kids would love to meet any others of a similar age to hang out with on the cruise.....

:welcome: My dd is 13 yo. She'll be 14 yo at cruise time. She is already exchanging emails with two other girls on the PC cruise. PM me if your dd wants to email, so we can exchange addresses.

FYI, I periodically check to see if an OGT or VGT rate is being offered, and I noticed that the IGT rate is no longer available.

Me too - one week tomorrow - hopefully they will open it as scheduled!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the prices are reasonable! :duck:

Me too! Is June 4th the day SWA is supposed to post their December schedule?

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Welcome CokeZero & Bth!

June 4th is the daten for SW that I heard from my 'insider'.

Happy Day, all!

Hello All!
We (Myself, DH, DD-13 and DS-11) just booked this cruise today are are so excited- this is our first Disney cruise! We've been wanting to take one for awhile and the great rates made this impossible to pass up. The kids would love to meet any others of a similar age to hang out with on the cruise. We would also like to participate in the FE and get a PC certificate. We are new to DCL so any tips you think are helpful are much appreciated.:cool1:

Welcome - my DD just turned 14 today, you can PM as well if your DD would like to email with her.

 yep, that's what is posted on their website - just hoping they don't push it back any further :rolleyes1

We live about 30 min. from Scranton and 40 from Wilkes Barre; this is our home turf. People in WB are still displaced and rebuilding.
Now, aren't you sorry you mentioned Lee?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm so happy you were able to rearrange your wedding plans!s

Where are you? I lived in Mountain Top. My Dad worked in Duryea. My sister who is also going on this cruise still lives in Mountaintop. I am still in shock when I look at the flood pictures and damage. My other sister lives in Williamsport and their house was spared but all of their friends and my brother-in-law's family weren't so lucky. My brother-in-law is a state trooper and he almost didn't make the wedding since he had his hands full. One of my bridesmaids lived in Kingston and they gave up and recently moved to Back Mountain.
Only I would pick the weekend to get married a 100 year flood decides to come along. The good news it that my wedding day was sunny and everyone made it.

And it's finally offical, we are booked!

Wow- we got the IGT rate yesterday right before in went up- good thing we didn't wait until today.
We live in CA and DD currently is 12 and in the 6th grade and will be 13 at the time of the cruise. If you think your daughter would be a good fit let me know- Thanks!

Welcome new cruisers:cheer2:
I haven't been very active on the board or on the Facebook account because I am trying to plan all of my summer craft projects with my kids and keep getting sucked into kid project and crafty blogs during my online time. I have a strong desire to be craftier than my skills allow me to be:rotfl2: but I keep trying.

I am also addicted to finding FE ideas, my husband cut me off at three deliveries last time, but it was a really small group and I wanted the kids to have goodies everyday:goodvibes Our group is bigger so I am thinking of combining my goodies into one bigger delivery... My they parents are coming on this cruise and it is their first time, so my kiddos and I are surprising them with the FE- they have no idea:rolleyes1 So we will be not only handing over an FE on day one, but a box of goodies for them to deliver:woohoo:

I am also planning for my new magnets. Ohhh, I love the preparation for a disney cruise!!!!

FE oh FE, how I love you. But PLEASE, people! BE REALISTIC. Think Small, lightweight and/ or flat or consumable! I continue to be astounded at the size and shape of things people think we will have space and weight allowance to lug home.

I personally allow space in my luggage for FE goodies and souveniers, it is easy to do as the space that you took up with your FEs to pass out creates it:rotfl: I have also heard of people using what they can on the ship, taking home their most useful or most prized and leaving the rest (any unconsumed candy, etc) in a nice small basket/ cute pile for their room host/hostess and it being much appreciated. I don't know of anyone that was bothered by that, but then I guess they probably never knew. The only negative response I have seen about gifts given on the disboards are when someone tried to sell them on Ebay :sad2:

I feel that one of the best aspects of the FE is seeing my kids creativity and kindness in putting together special packages for those they will be giving to and I would never stifle these amazing traits:thumbsup2 We mostly do a simple craft or two (my kids are 4, 6 as of less than a month ago) and stuff that can be used on the trip- I won't give away any details;) you will just have to wait and see what I mean:cool1:

We have received some amazing, thoughtful, useful and greatly appreciated gifts that were not consumable or flat/ lightweight. Some were homemade and some were purchased. I am glad that no one changed their minds on what to bring.

Looks like I missed my chance. :sad1:

I've been away from home for the past 4 months and was going to wait till I was back home next week to try to get ducks in a row and then see about booking. Of course the IGT disappears 3 days before my flight home!

Here's hoping it comes back for a brief appearance sometime in the next few weeks....

Wow, I don't log in for a couple of days and I am already 2 pages behind! This weekend I did our tie-dye mickey shirts for our trips to Disneyland in June. I managed to get 12 shirts done and am pretty happy with the way they turned out. Our boys still don't know we won the Carsland media day tickets, so they will be so shocked! They think we are just going down to visit my parents. I was surprised to see no more IGT rates. I guess those rates did the trick and got more people on board. I hope everyone enjoys the day off today!

Linda,

What would you consider lightweight and not bulky? I know I was thinking of something in particular if I did get to go on this cruise and participate in the FE... it's consumable, but not necessarily on the cruise... so it would be going home with people.

I feel like I'd have to play 20 questions to try to figure out if things are appropriate without giving away what the gifts are. :rotfl: "Is it smaller than a breadbox?" One of our favorite ways to pass the time on long trips when we were kids. This would definitely be smaller than a breadbox. But maybe slightly heavier than a deck of cards.

What were some of the things you got on your last cruise that seemed a bit too bulky?

Linda, I can't remember if you were in one of my groups or not but I hope my FE wasn't too bulky to bring home!

Has anyone made any magnets specifically for this cruise yet? For those up for sharing their creations, I'd love have a (generic )copy of it. I'm not very savvy with photoshop but I'll make sure to post any designs I have the great DIS designers make.

I was just starting to look into some excursions via the DCL site and noticed Cartegena is not listed. Has anyone spoken to DCL about when they might have excursions listed for here? Since I can book I think the 2nd week of August, I would hope they put them up soon so I can do some research!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope the IGT will make a comeback for you! :grouphug:

My DD will be in 9th grade in the fall and just turned 14 - she is on the "younger" side of her age if you know what I mean (just not quite as mature as some of her classmates), alot of her friends are a year younger than she is, so I'm sure the girls will get along fine!! I know she would love to have another friends for sure on the cruise.
