EBPC December 9, 2012!!! PART 2

In June and September the gift was a backpack. DH is using one every day for work and I gave the other to a friend who had never cruised on DCL before.

I called Disney and they told me because I booked an IGT they can't change anything on my reservation that my only chance would be at the port if there was availability.
I am a first time cruiser with an upgrade question....
We booked the IGT with restrictions room deal for this cruise. We were fine with an inside room. We recently have been given our room assignments. A member in our group has had some health issues and may be spending more time in the room. At port, he wishes to try to upgrade to a room with a view. I am trying to research if that MIGHT be an option (I know that there would have to be availability, etc). I am reading web info that says, "yes that might be an option" and some that say "no- those are the restrictions"... You guys seem smarter than everyone else, so any insight??

In April on the Dream, the gift was more of a beach bag. It had one strap and a draw string.
That's what we got in November and December. I like the backpack better, but I liked the bags that had zippers on the top (can't remember what year that was!) much better!

Time is tight for me right now, so I can't wade through the posts to discover the answer to this question, so I apologize if it's a repeat. I know that Tammy isn't cruising with us, so will we get an updated FE list with GTY cabin #'s before we leave ? Or will we not receive the updated list until after we are onboard at the meet & greet? I'm in the "Minnie" group. I wanted to add the cabin #'s to the FE's that are GTY before I pack them in my suitcase, so will wait for an update if it is coming. If not, I'll pack them and do it later. Thanks!

I will be sewing all day and will PM everyone tonight...
Jeff....LOL...sorry you havent been on any of our cruises in the past! I love sewing them and have given some away on every cruise we've been on. That being said..so not a pro here. LOL

The only thing I ask is that you not sell them, but feel free to pass them on someday to another family.;)
OOoooooooooh Dimples is going to want to talk with you! She says all the clothes in the bear store are TOO darn small! (and her 'person' doesn't sew very well)

Tammy will be updating the FE list from the online change form in the FE link on the website and ChipperMerlin (Shirley) & I will be in the terminal before sail away, and at the 3 pm meet handling any last minute updates.

There will also be last last minute changes listed on whiteboards outside my cabin 5131 and Shirley's (number forgotten, sorry)

We are tempted by the idea of an upgrade - I'm guessing we should get to the port early. Does anyone know what time it opens?

Thanks,
Rach

I follow Disney Cruise Line on twitter and the post today led to an article saying that the Wonder will be the first Disney Cruise ship to home port at the port of Miami on December 23. That's us!!!!!!:cheer2: I hope they have a fun debarking party for us.:banana: Sherry

I don't know for sure, but since we don't have a specific check-in time, we will be there at 10:30. Some mixup has us as pre-cruise passengers. So no specific check-in time is given.

Well, I now know that we're getting close. We have an interoffice envelope with important papers in it for the cruise. It now has our passports in it. It also has our small $$ for use in the ports if a CC isn't an option. Still can't pack quite yet since there are still some warm days here in SoCal. I have a hard time packing in stages anyway since I forget what I had packed so it is probably better to just pack at one time.

This will be our first 2 week cruise. We chose it because the one week cruises seemed a bit too short. Just when you've gotten your sea legs and just entered vacation mode, it's over. Hopefully, at the end of the 2nd week, I will be ready to go home.

Then again, maybe not.

The two gallons of milk I purchased today have expiration dates of 12-10-12. THAT'S how you know it's close - when you cruise PRIOR to a fresh dairy product expiration date. :cool1:

We feel the same way, which is why we don't book anything less than 7 days. I just can't imagine us doing those 3 or 4 day cruises.

Woh that is a sign! Thanks for the reminder, I need to clean out my fridge before we go :drinking1

Great! Thanks Linda!

It was a pretty big deal for the Magic in New York. :thumbsup2

It was NO DEAL when we brought the Wonder to LA. If some local DISers hadn't put up a sign and some lime green balloons on the fence across the water, there'd have been absolutely nothing. We didn't get a send off, either, since the Dream had just launched. Apparently DCL spent all their budget on that.:rolleyes1

But...we did have dueling horns with the Dream and that was pretty cool!

Thanks for the reminder. :) I stopped the mail, called the police dept to set up a vacation watch, but I didn't stop the milk man yet. I guess we won't be needing milk products next week. So many things on my list.

Here's today's DCL post on Facebook:

"Today, Captain Mickey Mouse officially kicked off the countdown for the arrival of the Disney Wonder to Port Miami with a Disney-style unveiling of a larger than life banner proclaiming "See You Real Soon." “Like” this post if you want to set sail December 23rd from Miami on a holiday Disney cruise with your family!"
