ebay sellers, I got a ?

anyone know if it is OK to say yes to this ? I received about a listed item:

"would you ship item for free at buy it now price"

I am unsure if that is not OK by ebay rules. I am thinking I should say no I bought and sold a lot on ebay, but I never ran into deal makings and thought it was against the rules.

Yes, you can do it. The shipping is not something they make money off of, so they don't care, LOL

I forgot to add.... I did have a s&h price on the listing, they want me to let them pay the Buy it now price and for me to ship it free. Since it has S&H on the listing, I am not sure.

If the auction closes legaly I believe it is your option to negotiate shipping. Ebay does not charge a percentage of the shipping costs only the sale price so they should not have a problem...

the same as optional shipping insurance.

Yes, you can still do it. When you invoice him, just remove the shipping costs.

OTOH, you really don't have to say yes if you don't want to.

Exactly and the same as combining shipping. Many times, when I combine shipping, one or more items ends up being shipped for 'free'.

Ebays main concern is not getting their piece of the pie. Like, if you close the listing and have someone pay you on the side, they don't get the final value fees. With shipping, the only thing they are concerned with is people inflating the shipping to start their listing at a lower price. Like starting a computer at 99 cents with $400 shipping. That is a big no-no.

I have re-negotiated a shipping price after making a purchase. No problem.

I always ask if they will ship free with BIN. Most times the sellers agree and a few times I have gotten 1/2 price shipping. Hey it never hurts to ask. And if someone asks me I say yes as well.
