I have a couple of eBay questions...

1. When is a good time to start selling fall/winter clothes?

2. I have several clothing items that are brand new. Should I group them in a lot or can I sell them separately?

3. When should I start selling toys and Christmas type items?

4. I have tons of children's books. Would they sell well in a lot do you think? If so, how many would you put in a lot?

I've been taking a break from eBay this summer, but I am ready to start selling again. Thanks for your help! :teeth:

I think anytime after August 1 would be a good time to start selling fall/winter stuff.

If you have name brand items that are new with tags you can most definately sell those seperately. Anthing else though you are better doing by lot.

I've never sold children's books or Christmas items on eBay so I can't help you there. I do have some Dept 56 that I am wanting to sell on there though so I'll be curious what the answer is.

Keep an eye on the auctions for items you intend to sell. August/September seem to be when people buy fall clothing. Certain brand names will sell very well, and those should be sold as individual outfits. Again, check the auctions for the items you have.

Back to school clothing is doing pretty well right now, you have to remember that many schools head back in August and even though it is going to be warm for a bit, some people are looking for the fall stuff now. Maybe do a search and see what similar items/lots are selling for.

NWT items usually go in a separate auction for me, unless it is not a higher-end brand name, for those items I do put them in a larger lot but highlight the fact that some NWT items are included.

Winter items would probably do better in Sept/October although some eBay store owners are saying that winter stuff is selling right now, so who knows?

Toys & Xmas items I'm starting about Halloween, probably the first 2 week of November until I'm done listing, maybe early December at the very latest. I find that video games and other toys do great at that time of year.

For the children's books, it really depends on the books. If they are more sought-after titles and hardcover, they could do well on their own. If they are softcover and from a book club or Scholastic, a larger lot would probably be better, perhaps in late Aug/early Sept. Others on this board have mentioned that they do pretty well with books on half.com considering the expense of eBay listing/FV fees.

GL with your auctions! :)
