eBay Question... How are your sales going?

Last week, I listed 5 items and only 1 sold. :( I could still use some money for WDW, but it seems like eBay sales are slow right now. Do you think sales will start picking up in the next couple of weeks or do you think it will be well into November before sales start climbing?

My Ebay sales have been so-so. I will do OK for a day or 2 then several days will go by with nothing :rolleyes1

Hi!

I think it really depends on what you are selling. My sales have been great, but then again, I was selling all of my Disney costumes off for Halloween. Now I have to find something else to start selling.

It is addicting though, I have made quite a chunk of change from what has been sitting in my basement for years. Hmm... I wonder what else I have down there?

I had 40+ auctions listed last week and all but 10 sold (all but 3 people have paid .) Final values on some were very good and some not so good. I'm going to be listing some more pins and Halloween costumes later today. Hopefully they will do pretty well.

I have to keep listing thru the end of November as I have to build up my Disney fund ::MickeyMo

I haven't had a chance to list stuff for a couple of weeks. I have fall/winter clothes that I need to get listed soon.
I did list a couple of video games and they are all selling. Those are easy with the pre-filled information.

Last 60 days have been very good only 3 or 4 items out of 40 have not sold. Problem is I have never had so many cry babies sending complaints 30+ days after the auction closed. My listings are truefull nothing is not mentioned but still they want a full or partial refund. I am really thinking about never leaving feedback again just in case I need it later. After 500+ positives the first negative should show up today and guess what I dont care anymore.

I just listed something yesterday (Classic Disney Motorola walkie talkie, new) and already have a bid! :cool1: We were going to use them for our trip last year (which was cancelled and rescheduled for this Dec due to cancer) but since then, the 2 older kids got cell phones and we don't need 2 sets of them. I'm trying to see what else I can list. I am tempted to put up the Quantum pad that my daughter HAD to have last year...you can see where I'm going with this!!

Mine have actually picked up a lot in the last 2 weeks. However, up until that things would sell but for rock bottom prices, which means I'm making very little on things.
I think it really depends on what you're selling. I've been listing 50-100 auctions a week. 98% of my stuff is clothing for the whole family. I looked at my records from last year and Oct- mid Nov. was the highest prices for the fall/winter items. I actually have already been selling winter boots for nice amounts.
On the flip side my Halloween items have been doing awful this year. I made some serious money on Halloween costumes the last 2 years. For comparable costumes, I'm down almost 50% in profits.

I had 7 auctions up last week and all but 2 sold but the rest sold for low prices I think I made like $27.00 ..
The stuff that doesn't sell at consignment next week I will be listing on ebay so I hope that when the cold weather rolls in people will start bidding again :goodvibes

Hi Kilee~

I see in your post that you sell 98% clothing. I found some NWT clothes from the Children's Place that my girls can't wear. Do you think I should list separately or in lots?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I will pick up as soon as my Spode ornament supplier gets up and running. I need to find out soon the details of my order there.

I haven't really bothered with anything in a long time. Its getting to be easier to take it to Goodwill/church rummage sale and get a write off.

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes

My goal is to do some research this weekend and see if my items are selling or not. If so, I will do some serious listing over the next two weeks and go from there. I would love to add some money to our Disney account! :Pinkbounc

Well.... for about the 6th month in a row--we have discovered a trend that must follow Payday, but the first 7 days of any month have been BOOMS for us--while the middle weeks of a month are slower. We had a dismal September, but this past week has been good.

I am working on my holiday/toy listings for next week (mid Oct) right now, but this is how my sales have been lately:

This week I have 3 up w/ 1 selling, 3.99 so far LOL. But I have until Mon and most bidders wait last minute so I am hopeful.

Last week: 4 auctions, 4 sold, $38.48.
Week Before: 13 auctions, 13 sold, $443.84.

Last month I made $898.00 (mostly book sales and kids clothing).

Wow! $898 is great!!!!:Pinkbounc I would love to make that kind of money in a month! ::yes:: I think my best month on eBay was around $300.

I just started ebaying again after a couple of years absence - I sold all the children's books I listed except for 3 and I sold all the children's VHS tapes that I had - some of them I was going to just throw away (glad I didn't) and those were the ones that got the highest bids - you just never know what someone else is looking for.

I made $200.00 the last month - $8.00 this week - BOO!!!!

Where does everyone get the items they sell on eBay, especially those of you who post 50 or more items a month? :confused3 I've sold a few things from around the house, and my husband has actually bought items on eBay at low prices and then re-sold them on eBay for a profit. I need ideas on what to sell.

I have had two charge backs in the last month from Paypal. This is getting so bad. Never in five years have I had so many complaints, whiners (took too long to get to CO...it took three days priority!!!) (Too small??? She ordered the size stated). Now this, both were verified and confirmed addresses and one even left positive feedback about how she loved the item!!! Make sure to get delivery confirmation and mail to the confirmed address or that's it. One was under $25.00 so I guess Paypal doesn't care about that one and I am still waiting on the fradulent activity one with the feedback.

Thrift stores, garage sales, and retail stores when they clearance things 75-90% off.

I agree! I have one real loon right now and then another whiner about shipping charges (didn't read terms) and priority isn't cheap no matter how light your item is :sad2:
