Ebay - Ok, How Do I Know If ...

... the cute pair of Chanel sunglasses that I love are real or knock-offs?

They have a bunch available from the UK at a "buy now" price of approx. $52 US and something like $30 ship. At $82 total, they're a lot less than I would pay for them in NYC or locally (if I found a place that could order them).

But, I'm thinking that $82 is pretty cheap for a real pair of Chanel sunglasses.

How do I know what I'm getting into? All I keep thinking is "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"

On some of them, you can see the Chanel logo inside the arm of the glasses (which real Chanel's have). But, what's to say they're not knock-offs? I sure don't want to spend $82 on knock-offs!

Check feedback. I wouldn't buy sunglasses without being able to try on.

Feedback is all in German and it beats me what they're saying. Sure, it's positive ... but that doesn't give me any clues to whether they're knock-offs.

Anyway, I know what style I want b/c I've tried Chanel's on before and know what I'm looking for.

Uhhh, does it matter? If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck who cares if it's Giblert Godfried in a duck costume?

Really - if they look like the real thing, the feedback is positive (you can always use Google to translate) why not take the chance? If they get here and they are crap - well, chalk one up to experience. If they are real (or are at least not crap) then you're golden.

Why would I spend $82 for knock offs when I can get a knock offs for $15 to $20 on Canal Street?

That's why it matters. Duh.

Daxx is always in NYC on business and can get knock offs. I'd like the real deal *at a deal* for once in my life, thankyouverymuch.

Sounds too good to be true...I don't think I would risk it, especially if you can't read the feedback. I always ask myself how did they get so many for such a great price, unless they "fell" off a truck

I agree I would never pay $82 for knock offs and ultimately knock offs are illegal.

I would take the chance. Very often when it says "Buy Now" they're a dealer.

It can be difficult to deal with the return of them if you aren't happy with them??? You can e-mail the seller and ak if they are guaranteed authentic and what the return policy is if not 100% happy with your buy but it isn't always smooth sailing I'm afraid!

Not a big fan of E-bay these days!

I buy and sell on Ebay. Obviously, even if you could read the positive feedback, there is no way to know for sure. All positive feedback really tells you is that other people were satisfied with their purchase and the experience dealing with the seller. It does not prove authenticity.

If you would really be upset to find they are 'knock-offs', I wouldn't waste your time and money taking the chance.
