I bought a "new, but open" (as described) iPod. It doesn't work. His listing says no refunds or exchanges. And of course the seller won't answer me. Any hope of a refund?:headache:

If you paid by cc immediately call your cc and start a dispute/chargeback. If you paid by paypal, open a dispute there and through ebay.

Paypal claim. File as SNAD - significantly not as described. Don't let the seller get away with ripping you off.

This is correct. I am a power seller on eBay you will be able to open a case through the resolution center. The link is on the top right hand side of the eBay page. (report a problem). Just out of curiosity. How long have you given thE seller to respond? I would not wait for him/her I would open the case immediately.

If you have an unresponsive seller, you definitely need to open a dispute. You will be required to return the item for a full refund.

I'm sure you've figured this out, but electronics are a very high fraud item on Ebay. Not worth it IMO.

Apple will stand behind their product. If you have an Apple store bring it there to exchange it but I would def follow up with paypal and ebay as well.

I agree about Apple standing by their products. I have returned Ipods to them and they take care of everything, repairs, shipping, the works. It would depend on the age of the product and if the original owner has registered it under their Apple ID. If it is new and never registered you should be all set, with their 1 year full warranty. Best of luck to you!!!! :)

Yes, we asked before as we planned on buying an ipod on amazon to save on the taxes.

They said they would take it back even if not bought there.

eBay has a resolution center, open a case immediately. eBay protects buyers so they'll probably decide in your favor.

Thanks! I opened a case with buyer protection and my money was back in my account within the hour! Wow! Now all I have to do is return the item.

Sadly, I am now afraid to buy anything electronic off of ebay..... Went to wlamart and paid full price - and I HATE paying full price!!!!

Buying electronics from eBay can be pretty iffy. I have purchased cell phones with no problems, but always look for high volume sellers of similar items with at least a 99% positive feedback rating.

I've bought 6 refurbished iPods from Apple directly and have never had a problem. They come with the same warranty as a new one and are much cheaper than new. The inventory on their sites changes throughout the day. Maybe check and see if Apple has a refurbished model that you're looking for.

paying full price for ANything bugs me, I agree :rotfl:
But consider refurbs thru apple for any future purchase (versus ebay) as they are great.
glad it worked out for you...:thumbsup2
