HI Lisa...I want to know if that would be "the purse" that you have to sell?

:lmao: Where have I heard this before

I'm bummed that we won't be joining you guys.:sad1: but this trip is just not for us.

:rotfl2: Yep that purse! I think I can get some good $$$ for it! We have a local boutique that re-sells designer stuff...I'm too nervous to try Ebay as a buyer could switch it and then insist I sold them a fake or something. I feel more comfortable selling local. They recently just increased the price so I might even get the price I bought it for! And I got a year to enjoy it...

I wish this cruise was for you....:sad1:

Hello all!

We are also booked on this cruise as of today--woo hoo! :woohoo:

I agree that the prices were pretty godawful for the majority of the european cruises but I found the transatlantics to be not as bad. We took a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise on DCL in May and paid about the same as we are for a two-weeker!

Glad to see that there will be other kids that are about the age of my sons. They will be 6 and almost 4 by our sail date. I can't wait to tell them about the cruise (it won't be anytime soon, they can't think that far ahead).

I will end up having to pull my oldest out of kindergarten for 2 weeks but the boy is already reading :teacher: so I think he'll be a'ight. Just hope his teacher doesn't think I'm too horrible. :guilty:

Anyone else out there worried about pulling kids out of school?

Can't wait to meet everybody!

And now it's VINTAGE... :goodvibes

Yea!!!We are officially booked!! I am so excited! :woohoo: We are in two cat 11's. Like I mentioned earlier, It will be me (Dena) My DH Michael, our 3 children Brendan, Ashley and Emily who will be turning 20, 19 and 6 at time of sailing. Also with us will be my parents. I havent even told my DH that we are booked, as he is working over in Iraq and he wont get my email until tomorrow.

Welcome! My husband works in Iraq also but we skype so he knew right away we booked- as I was booking :)

We are traveling with our 2 kids - ashlyn who will just turn 15 in march and Aaron who will turn 13 on the cruise - my husband will turn 39 the day before we board - and I will have turned 40 in Feb. so I am calling this my mid-life crisis cruise :)

Well, after seeing all of your prices for airfare, I called Disney and added airfare from ORD for $529pp. That is an unbelievable price. We were looking at over $600 for just o/w from Barcelona. Thanks for the tip!

COOL!!

You said you got this airfare FROM Chicago...did you get this rate as a round-trip or one-way? Did you have any trouble booking it through Disney?

Thanks. Since I can't get a rate from Barcelona to anywhere in TN from Disney, i'm going to have to get a 1-way ticket back to TN no matter what. So I'm thinking it doesn't really matter what city in the US I fly into. I wonder what city is the least expensive?

I am in TN also - that must be why I could not get a quote. I tried and tried. Maybe it will be easier to pick a city and then maybe drive there - like Atlanta. I may call disney direct and see what happens

I am trusting my TA to coordinate the flight for me, but if I haven't heard back from her by this afternoon, I"m going to call Disney myself! I was thinking about flying into St. Louis or Atlanta too, because then I could get a one-way flight home to TN using Southwest from there. My TA said that there were no flights through Disney to anywhere in TN, so we're in the same boat (pardon the pun!) as you...needing to fly into another city so we can get some decent airfare!

After seeing the LOW prices you all are getting on your air, I did some playing around with the pricing from various airports. I found that if I was to switch airports from Kansas City to St. Louis, I would save $3107.44 between the 7 of us!!! KC is only a 45 minute drive and St. Louis is about 4 hours, but we'll definitely be flying from St. Louis!!! I called to make the changes and we're now paying just $3763.89 for the air portion of our trip which is about $537ish per person. Can't believe that includes air both ways & the transfers. It's almost too good to be true! :woohoo:

Would you mind sharing with me how you got that airfare deal? Our TA just emailed me and told me that the airfare flying into St. Louis would be $992 per person. What exactly did you say when you called Disney in order to get the deal where it's only $530 pp? We'd need to fly to Orlando to get to Port Canaveral, but we planned on booking that one-way through Southwest. Then, we'll take the cruise, so we only need a one-way ticket from Barcelona back to the States. We're willing to fly into whatever city is the least expensive, and then we'll get a one-way w/Southwest to get us the rest of the way home.

Can someone please help me? :headache:

I think you should ask for the whole enchilada from Disney. Tell them you will fly out of St Louis or Atlanta to MCO, then back into those from BCN (Barcelona) Then book your local trips to and from on your own.

Hi, we just booked, looking forward to all those sea days. It will be me, DH and our daughter (due any moment :yay: ) who will be 17 months. Also, 2 of my best friends are joining us with their DH's and their kids, one who will be turning 4 on the cruise and the other one will be 2 yrs and 6 months. We were on the inagural Med last year, had a spectacular time and were actually booked on the PC last May, but, we had to cancel due to our princess: arrival.

Looking forward to meet you all!!

Camille

Hi Camille! How cool that we have another new baby expected soon! My little guy should be coming in December.

I thought you might remember me, but my mom always taught me not to assume! I remember your big family as it seemed like it kept going and going! So is everyone but your sister coming again?

:) Yeah, we're leaving the 18 year old home since she'll still be up in college. My grandparents also decided not to come along, since the transatlantic flight might be too much for Grandpa. We booked for my dad (though he MIGHT wind up cancelling later on) and if he makes it, it will be his first Disney Cruise.

any1 for some texas hold-em???????????

Did you play with Gaylean on our Panama cruise? My brother and husband played along with that group and had a really good time.

I'm getting ready to call the air department at Disney to see what our options are. I would LOVE to get one of those $530 rates, so I'm wondering how some people managed to get them.

Thank you all for any advice you can give...RT from St. Louis or Atlanta and from Barcelona back to STL or Atlanta may just be the way to go...I will be sure and ask what ALL of our options are!! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, kstategrad! They must have had an increase! I just repriced online... just one of our staterooms... and it was still $3,047.64 without air which is the same price I paid yesterday, so Tier 1 pricing is still in effect for the stateroom rates... but $5,865.25 when I added the air versus the $4,648.35 that I locked in a few hours ago. I have 3 in that room, so it looks like an airfare increase of $405.63 per person!!! Looks like the price quote you received is just about right. So sorry! Something I found interesting when I talked to the DCL air department today was that their adult airline tickets are priced slightly higher than the children's tickets - strange, huh? That's probably why our numbers aren't matching exactly.

I wonder if there was a giltch and we got under the wire for it. If so great, but I am secretly holding out hope that Paul (DH) and Molly (DD) will join in the plans on this trip. I'd have to add them later of course. I just can't see paying another $1200 in deposits for them to add right now.

Yeah, I am so upset right now. I REALLY don't want to pay over $3000 in airfare. I was really hoping I could get the first-teir pricing on the airfare.

Any chances the airfare will go back down, or is it a lost cause? :sad2:

Yeah, we're leaving the 18 year old home since she'll still be up in college.

My oldest daughter won't be coming along on this cruise either. She'll be a freshman away at college - somewhere! ;) She's not thrilled to be missing out on this trip.

Yeah.. I was hoping to price out the airfare with DCL this afternoon, but I haven't had a chance yet. Doh! I'll still check it out, but if it doesn't seem that cheap then I'll wait.

Awww! Yeah, we're thinking that we might need to do something special for my sister since she'll be missing out, but we'll come up with something. We have time :)

When you call DCL, woudl you mind sharing what your quote is? I am hoping the rates will change again (lower). I know, wishful thinking...

I wonder the same thing. I kept telling my DH this morning how odd the pricing was - and how it was SOOOOO much cheaper than we could have booked on our own. What's odd is that it seemed to be only certain airports that had the really killer deals. For Kansas City, it was certainly a deal but the St. Louis prices blew KC away. Maybe DCL bought pre-paid blocks of tickets from Barcelona on 4-24 with a particular airline? Maybe they were good for travel to a few choice airports only? Something was definitely going on.

there is always a chance. keep checking
