How often do you eat out?
Where do you go...fast food or sit down restaurant?
Do you stay close to home or venture a few towns away?

Me:
At least once a week + my morning coffee stop/addiction
Sit down
Out of the town I live in otherwise it just feels like I’m being lazy, haha!

Very seldom. Dd has allergies so it limits us. I’m a good cook and find that when we do eat out, I’m invariably disappointed or I think about how much less I could have cooked the same meal for. I do enjoy really good pizza and fish and chips though.

Don't do to "sit down" places very often, unless the bar at a brewery counts, then it is 2 - 3 time a month. In fact I am trying to remember the last time I had a meal at a sit down that wasn't a brewery. I think it was Thai food in November.

We do pizza several times a month. I do Chipotle for lunch about once per week. Unless I am meeting someone, I am not likely to go out for dinner. By the end of a work day I just want to go home, put on my comfy clothes and relax.

So true! I definitely shame myself after I go out somewhere & sit there thinking “I’ve got all this stuff in my fridge & could have whipped this up & it would’ve been 10x better”

Several times a week usually sit down. We go out with my Mom to a local restaurant/ Diner on Saturday for a lunch or dinner. During the week Mom & I also go out for lunch while shopping ( Cracker Barrel or a Diner). DH and I go out for dinner on Friday and usually lunch at a local restaurant on the weekend. DH still works and may grab lunch at a fast food location or Wawa a few days a week. I usually grab a sandwich one day a week from a local shop to eat at home. Otherwise I make something at home for lunch if not out with Mom.
As for in our town or not where we live ( NJ suburbs of Philadelphia PA) it isn't a long drive to any of our favorites. Several are within our town.

There's no set frequency. A lot depends on what plans we have going on. Some weeks we have multiple times because it's multiple families we're going out with (this happens more with birthdays) other weeks we rely on food purchased from the store. If it's just my husband and I I'd say it's more often we get fast food these days but we do go out to sit down restaurants too depending on our moods.

I have cut way back in the past couple months since I am on a weight loss program. I used to buy breakfast out every day, lunch out most days and go out to dinner 5 times a week. Now I just go out to dinner 3 times a week and never breakfast and maybe lunch once or twice a week. I so much prefer ending my day with a relaxing meal with someone else cooking and cleaning up!

Twice a week, dinner Friday and Saturday night. Kind of evenly split between sit down and fast food. Fast food tonight, new Chicken place opened this week, wanted to try it out.

I'm back working occasionally in the office but I'm mostly allowed to work from home. I'm cheap so I find what I can on a tight budget.

The deal I'm enjoying now is Chili's 3 for $10 deal. A beverage, an appetizer, and an entree for $10. One server told me that a 6 oz steak used to be on the menu with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables. However, they have a few items available where the entree price is more than $10, like their Just Bacon Burger and the Margarita grilled chicken.

Last time I just got their chips and salsa as an appetizer. I couldn't finish it and asked if I could get it to go. So the server said she's "box it" but I ended up with a new to-go bag and a new container of salsa. Don't like the salsa (too thin) but the chips are the thin kind.

Fast food/take out about once every other week. Occasionally we’ll have a run of once a week for awhile if schedules are weird. What depends on who is home. Usually something like Chipotle or Pizza and Fingers if DH is home. If it’s just myself and all three kids we’ll get something lighter like a salad/sandwich combo from Zuppa’s. If it’s just me and the younger two usually McD’s.

Out to eat is maybe three, four times a year. Birthdays or someone is in town. I took the younger two out to breakfast for the first day of summer at a place called Babystacks. It’s a pancake house with a Hawaiian flair. For instance you can get Spam and rice in place of bacon and potatoes or a Kailua pig omelet. I’m always meaning to try something different but I get the Carrot Cake pancakes every time.

I love eating out but I agree the price is usually ridiculous for what you actually get; it's hard to feel 100% satisfied with the experience. We go out for dinner maybe 3 or 4 times a month and practically always with friends so it's really more about the social time than the food.

Tonight was one of the rarer occasions when we went out just the 3 of us (me, DH and DS). We went to Red Lobster and didn't go over the top; 1 appetizer, 1 alcoholic drink and 3 entrees. The bill was $129.00 before taxes or tips - almost a week's worth of groceries. :sad2: It's impossible to say it was actually worth it.

We have really, really reduced our fast-food take-out consumption over the years. It's down to maybe once a week or less because I'm just so sick of everything that's available. I'd rather have a bowl of cereal on nights I'm not up to cooking.

We do delivery about once a week (dozens of places to choose from), no fast food, Chipotle is the only chain (even though we have tons). There are a lot of restaurants in my little town, but lots in neighboring towns too. I cook almost every night. Last night we ordered mussels, a plain pie, pasta vodka pie, gluten free pie, a calzone and a dozen garlic knots.
